Bounce Factory Bug ?

I got a strange thing happening with Bounce Factory, it was working two days ago and doesn't seem to work anymore. More than words to describe it, I made a little video screenshot and collected the log files from BF.

Everything is ok taking the snapshot (its quicker than usual , maybe because I had made snapshots with this session days ago), its after hitting "Process" that the error occur, BF trying to type " ,40, " renaming the session.

Bounce Factory Support
The best and fastest way to get help with any Bounce Factory problem is to send the User Files and (if applicable) a screen recording of Bounce Factory failing. The easiest way to do this is to use the "Report a Problem" button in the app:
1. Go to the Bounce Factory settings using the cog in the bottom-right of the app:
2. Click the red "Report A Problem…" button at the bottom of the Settings screen
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Did you happen to update to OS 14.6.1 between the time it worked and now? It's having trouble with that Mac OS save dialog and that may have changed. I haven't tested with 14.6.1 yet...

Andrew Scheps @Andrew_SchepsI was taking tons of Snapshots yesterday on 14.5 so in a way I was kind of hoping that was it. That way I could upgrade and reproduce the problem.
Let's see what happens with a full restart of everything.

And here's a stupid thing, can you try restarting everything and making sure caps lock is off (it's on in the video)? I would be very surprised if that had anything to do with it but you never know. Restarting may be the thing though.

I performed a full restart of everything before going to lunch, and the problem still occur... cap locks off...

That's very very strange. I tested again here and it's still working. And because it used to work for you on the same OS that can't be it. Is there anything else that changed? Also, could you try a few different sessions, including maybe a really simple one you create for the test.
The error in the logs is that it can't find that save dialog, like it doesn't even exist...
In reply toHors_Piste⬆:Hors Piste @Hors_PisteAndrew, it's ok with other sessions, despite a message asking if I want to close my session during taking the snapshot. Hitting cancel to message, it disappears and its working. I had this message before upgrading.
SO for the first problem, would it be like a corrupt thing ?

It must be something to do with the session but that other problem is incredibly strange too! I’m traveling at the moment but at some point let’s figure out why it’s trying to close the session. Could you make that happen and the send me the user files so I can look at the logs?

Andrew, will come back to the studio tonight or tomorrow morning to make you a video screenshot.
Unless I try it on another computer (MacBook Air M3 with the last Sonoma). Same config as the computer in the studio. It will interesting to see if it does the same thing too !

It might be, but it’s still pretty weird. I’m traveling for a bit but please reply to this post on the 18th or so and let’s figure this out. I know there are other people on a French OS. The closing the session thing is the crazy one to me.

Ok, so, I made a test on my mobile rig, which exactly the same configuration. I mean exactly, one with a MacBook Air M3 and the other a Mac Studio Ultra with M2 chip.
The test I just made on the mobile rig do exactly the same thing as previously at the studio.

So, in that video it's failing because Bounce Factory is covering up the inserts and sends.
Since the dialog is in French that means it's a system dialog, not a Pro Tools one. It's asking if you want to log out, correct? If so that means there is probably a keystroke conflict somewhere. It's an incredibly strange thing to have happen

Nope, nothing is assigned to the session log off shortcut, beside the system shortcut (shit-command-Q)... Very curious indeed !

Coming back at you after we dealt with the "Session Log Off" bug some weeks ago. And we resolve it.
Now the second bug I described is still occurring. I uploaded a video screen shot of the bug at this link :

The problem it's having is finding the Save Session Copy dialog (the one that is on the screen), so then it's trying to put the session back the way it was, which is why it's typing the command to recall a memory location.Has this been happening every time or just on a particular session?

I will go to the studio in few minutes to check if it does it with the other songs. When it happens last September, it was not on all the sessions.
Would it be again a French/US keyboard thing ?

It's not a keyboard thing, but it is an OS thing. When the OS isn't in English BF has to use an alternate method to find that Save dialog. I've found a more forgiving way for this to happen which will be in the next version of BF, which should be out today or tomorrow.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but when it fails I see that caps lock is on. Could you try it again with it off? Again, doubtful that's it...

Believe it or not Andrew, but it works fine without caplock engaged !
And since we started our discussions, BF has worked fine on most of the other sessions (CAPLOCKS were not engaged while using BF).
I just try to engage CAPLOCK on one of these "good" BF sessions, and the bug occurred ...
This is a session I used first video I sent you. Working great without CAPLOCK engaged...
