Scheps MomDeck issues and tips
I've installed Scheps Momdeck.
Dadman can see the device and it reports the correct volume info in the bottom right corner button.
I get the following error whenever I press a button though- I cannot control Dadman from the Streamdeck.
I am using a Streamdeck XL.
Any suggestions?

Update.
I might have sorted it myself.
I created a folder and named it 'cli35vqvc0000fv1004rsawp0' then copied across 'SOC Icon.png' from the ColorDeck folder 'clgm3eo770001no100f5htzzu' and it seems to work now.
But it is a bit of a bug, no?

Not at all! Very helpful. The first bug is something that only comes up with brand new installations which is why I didn't catch it.

I've renamed the thread because I am figuring out some things about it that are pretty odd and it might help to have some sort of repository until a manual or better videos are made.
Renaming sources.
You cannot do it here:
Renaming it as above won't do anything.
You have to make the deck viewable on your computer, then CMD click the Deck button to rename it.
This wasn't obvious and took a while to figure out.I'll post other things as I find them.

That one isn’t a bug. Renaming there won’t do anything because you could have different names for every layer, you definitely need the deck running for that.

Layer 4 doesn't want to see to work, despite having Layer 4 enabled in MOM (and working on my two hardware MOM's).

I'm wondering if this one is because you made layer 4 active after launching the deck? When the first deck that contains MOMDeck buttons is launched, it scans to see what layers are active and that's then set until all MOMDeck stuff is quit. Maybe just try restarting SoundFlow and see if that sorts it out? Otherwise I'll have to have a closer look.

Yes I did enable Layer 4 earlier on that deck.
However, I saved DADman, then rebooted the machine which reopened DADman and Soundflow.
It is still happening.Could it be a preference file that hasn't updated?

Strange, but I'll take it! New version coming in a second with the fix for that first error (which you won't sea anyway because you fixed it manually).

Hmm, it shouldn't be. That scan happens as part of the startup process, it shouldn't care about the prefs at all. Can you try attaching it to one of your other monitor profiles and see if it makes a difference? I run all 4 layers but I'm not in my studio with the MTRX so troubleshooting before Sunday or Monday will be difficult for that one.

One more question if I may.
I notice that when I have MOMdeck open on a Streamdeck that anytime I hit a modifier key (CMD, OPT, Shift) the Streamdeck changes state,
Is there a way to disable that?Having discrete 'Edit' and 'Use' modes is I guess what I mean,

That’s definitely on purpose. If you get rid of the info button then shift is the only one that will change the buttons. I’ll look into a way to enable and disable that behaviour though!

Of course, if the videos weren’t screwed up it would all be explained. The idea is that the info button shows you what happens when you hold down certain modifiers, and the shift key is important for people while setting up their MOM profile so they know what the button names are in the Dadman software.

Yes, it is just a bit distracting I guess.
Not a deal breaker but if there is an option to hide/reveal it then that would be great.
The info button is great for showing current volume so I wouldn't want to remove that.FWIW, really impressed with this app- it is really terrific.

I use the high number function keys with and without modifiers to change sources, ctrl and plus and minus on the keypad to nudge volume and ctrl-shift keypad 1 2 and 3 to recall the presets.

I might change the shift-key action to all modifiers which are almost never pressed together. That way in normal operation only the info button would ever switch.

I’ll fix the videos later today, but to rename buttons you should just be able to hold down the command key and push the button. (You can’t customize in the deck editor itself.) If you hold down the option key and push the button you can change the color.
There’s no way to do custom icons at the moment.

Ok one more annoying thing and then I'll shut up and go mix. When starting up it seems like I have to close and re open Dadman a cpl times until it sees and connects everything.
Is there a recommended start up sequence? I have the deck triggered to open via dadman / finder. Any tips? Works flawlessly for me other than that.

For me I have to wait a few minutes after booting up before the mac sees the network with the MTRX, and until Dadman sees that it won’t initialise a MOM. Not sure if that’s what you’re seeing though. If it persists take a screen recording with Dadman’s device list and monitor. Panel open and maybe I’ll see something.

I set a delay for Dadman to start up, so that Soundflow has time to open.
Delay Start is a good application for this.

Yup - I set Soundflow to open at login and set Dadman not to. Once soundflow is ready I open Dadman and the connection is instant now.
