Keyboard Map
Hi. Hope this is the right place for this, not a bug or a problem, but i just wanted to note that I like the Keyboard Map view a lot, it really helps me visualize the shortcuts and help plan out how things are currently working and how they could work. I think it could be even better if you could do more with that view.
For example, a couple things come to mind that could be really helpful.
-Being able to drag and drop commands / macros to other triggers on the keyboard map, as well as remove the trigger directly from the keyboard map.
-The ability to click a key that isn't mapped and be to add an existing macro / script to that keyboard trigger.
-Be able to toggle the display of default Pro Tools shortcuts in this view. I know most of us know these commands, but a lot of them are just muscle memory for me and it could be helpful to have them visually on the screen when adding new shortcuts or moving stuff around.
Thanks!
Evan

YES! It would be SO great to simply drag commands to different keys.
I'd love to:
- save/recall/import/export keyboard maps
- search keyboard map - for instance, which layer did I put my special command?
For me: I really need INTERATIONS and EXPERIMENTATION to learn layouts... And I'd very much like to have layouts be consistent between machines or even accounts etc, so I want to start w/ the soundflow default set and build from there.
For the moment I keep a paper note w/ pencil where I"m working, so I can jot down ideas of command/key bindings, and then remember where I parked them so I can get some muscle memory going.

Hi Jeremiah
Thank you for your input to this (and in the other thread) - https://forum.soundflow.org/-1099#post-7

Can you elaborate a bit on this workflow - or the workflow that you're envisioning? Ie. tell me in more detail about how you are having trouble with the system as designed today. Since you can sign in with your SF account on any machine I'm not sure I understand why you're having trouble using the same keyboard layout on different machines.
I definitely understand from the perspective of teaching yourself new commands etc. that some sort of exporting to PDF or another printable layout would be a nice feature.
But in any event, the more detailed a description you can give of the complete workflow you'd like the better we'll be suited to coming up with the best possible solution :)

You can see the triggers for any command if you're on the Editor page, as you of course know. But I guess you're talking about making the Keyboard Map page more interactive so that you also have this ability there...
I have thought for some time to actually fully integrate the Keyboard Map into the Editor page itself as some sort of overlay that would show up when you record new triggers. That's why I'm asking for more details of the workflows you're missing (for example, "I want to assign a new trigger to a command but I don't remember which buttons are free, which means I have to go back and forth between the Editor page and Keyboard Map page, which is annoying, slow and error prone") - so that we can design the change / any new features in the best possible way :)

The issue with sharing keyboard layouts (internally: trigger profiles) is that they're tied to the installed commands and user commands. So imagine the complexity of sharing triggers between two accounts which may or may not have matching sets of commands. This opens up a whole new space for bugs, issues and complex user interaction - and we want to keep complexity down to a minimum for any new features in this space, which we believe to be fairly difficult to understand for new users as it is.
That's another reason why understanding the full workflow is paramount to designing a feature that solves any existing issues without introducing new ones :)

Hi there,
Apologies if this is a really stupid question but would this allow me to remap a PC keyboard layout to a mac layout? I am forced to use Pro Tools on a PC in a part time job and switching from my mac modifier keys is slowing me down immensely!!
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
SoundFlow is a Mac-only product, so it wouldn't be able to help with this specific issue, unfortunately.
