StreamDeck+ Knob Implementation Ideas
Hi all,
After chatting with Kitch & Christian, I wanted to post a few ideas/hopes for the StreamDeck+ (Plus) knobs. I think that part of these ideas may be predicated on whether Avid ever allows developers access to EuCon. I know that SoundFlow integration into EuCon is starting, but as I understand it, it's only 'one-way'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you will be able to trigger SoundFlow from a EuCon device, but you cannot access EuCon commands from SoundFlow. In any event, here are a few of my hopes for Pro Tools knob control in SoundFlow:
- Clip Gain
- Nudge & Grid Values
- Track Navigation (including selecting clips)
- Faders
- Panning
- Track Height changes
- Zoom (tracks & waveforms)
Of course, the Holy Grail would be '1 knob' control with the StreamDeck+, but I doubt Avid would ever allow that after all the years it took to get it implemented, but I can hope can't I?
While we are at it, here are a few for Soundminer:
- Volume
- Pitch Shift
- Any of the new rack parameters
- Any radium parameter
One last thought...
I have played around with the Loupedeck and its software. While there was a lot lacking in its portability, they implemented the knobs in an interesting way. You can assign a key command to either direction of the knob as well as to the knob click. It works remarkably well for things like clip gain and nudge value. Perhaps that could be a first step towards opening up knob customization for the rest of us...
Thanks for listening.

'1 knob' control with the StreamDeck+
What would this mean?
You can assign a key command to either direction of the knob as well as to the knob click
This is exactly what we have in mind + some :)
Hi @chrscheuer,
The ‘1 knob’ feature (I can’t recall it’s official name) works where you have a designated knob (currently only on S6 & Dock) and whatever parameter you mouse over (or click in some cases) is controlled by the knob. (Insert LOTR reference here). Thanks for listening. I hope this finds you well!
