Using knobs on streamdeck+ to control Yamaha's R Remote
Hi friends,
I have been tasked by my boss to research the possibility of controlling Yamaha R Remote's virtual knobs (to remotely adjust head amp gain levels on Tio and Rio hardware without tying us to the need for using Yamaha boards). Before I get too deep into the weeds I'm curious if anyone has done this, and what the most reliable method would be. Upon a cursory glance it looks like there are some macros built into sound flow that might be the ticket, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how to incrementally adjust the volume of the knobs, considering the macros ask for defined X and Y coordinates for start (which is easy), and end points (which would have to be variable to be able to adjust correctly, in my estimation).
Perhaps I'm having a failure of logic here; as you all might have surmised by this point I am an audio person and not in any way inclined toward programming.
The other piece of the puzzle for me is an elegant way of banking between the 16 gain knobs on R Remote that correspond to head amp gain, so that those can be mapped to knobs on SD+ for intuitive adjustment.
Your suggestions and feedback are welcome and appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
You might be able to use mouse scroll event simulation while hovering over the knobs as a way to achieve this.
If you can confirm that that's a working way to control the Yamaha R Remote knobs, then you could hook that up with Stream Deck Plus knobs using Generic Knob Commands - see here:
