Streamdeck+ with Ginger Audio Sphere Setup?
Has anybody here setup a streamdeck+ to work with the Ginger Audio Sphere software monitor controller? I can't get a streamdeck knob to control the volume. Here's what I've tried...
- Generic Knob Command triggering a "Press Key" for the volume up/dwn key command. - Doesn't work
- Generic Knob triggering a mouse click on the volume up/dwn UI element. - Doesn't work
- Soft Key triggering a Press Key for the volume up/dwn - Doesn't work
- Soft Key triggering a mouse click on volume up/dwn UI element - This DOES work.
- I tried the MIDI knobs bc Sphere does have easy midi learn, but it doesn't see the Soundflow MIDI Knob Output (just the other ones)
Obviously the key command does work when I use a keyboard. I'm a bit confused on why it won't work via Soundflow though.
Anybody have a thought or experience with this one? Thanks!

If the software monitor controller uses a global keyboard shortcut (as opposed to regular in-app keyboard shortcuts), then simulating keystrokes from SF in those cases may not always be picked up by the target app's global keyboard event handler. This is due to how macOS handles global keyboard shortcuts and -simulators.
Wrt MIDI, this may be a limitation enforced on the Ginger Audio side, in which it won't listen to virtual MIDI sources such as the SoundFlow MIDI Knob Output. If they restrict to only list physical controllers, there's not much we can do on our side there either, unfortunately.
The best solution may be to work directly with their team to get support going - if you have contacts there, please feel free to put them in touch with us.

The global shortcut aspect might be the thing. I can trigger the volume with a keyboard from any app.
I do know people there, I'll encourage them to connect with y'all. It's a pretty great app for software monitoring.
Thanks!

Hey @Travis_Ference,
I don't use Sphere but I took a look at the online manual and the side toolbar has a MIDI icon. When clicked it shows a menu for selecting which MIDI inputs it listens to for control. Check to make sure the SoundFlow MIDI output you're using is selected.Chris Shaw @Chris_Shaw2023-10-23 17:58:09.664Z
This free app is really useful for sorting out which midi messages are being generated by any virtual or physical controller. It may help.

Awesome. I'll check midi monitor out.
I've seen the MIDI input tab, but oddly it sees all the other Soundflow outputs, but not the Knobs output. I'm going to connect with them about that.
Thanks Chris!

Hm interesting. The Knobs output may only be created on demand, so perhaps this is an issue of reloading the Ginger app after having created the knobs output. If that's the case, you might be able to use a virtual IAC MIDI bus for re-routing the MIDI through, which would always be present on the system.
