Some issues

Hi @Chris_Shaw having some issues with CS control and the midi fighter twister. I have configured exactly as you've stated is the correct way and set my MAC os settings to screen record as well as configured the midi fighter utility the way you mentioned.

First off, configuring the MFT, knobs works, but buttons nothing happens and I can't set the buttons. Managed to get it once, but can't reconfigure. When I go to configure the buttons and I select the first button, it doesn't register the button and I can't hit set.

Second: mapping is slow and has strange response. Video example: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m8md674a5izzl70ibsejt/IMG_1395.MOV?rlkey=kl94wolngmug30cf0rrgt27jm&dl=0

Third: I tried to map an audio suite plugin and it got the right sliders, but no control works once mapped.

Fourth: Map display was not mimicking the plugin just showing a generic picture. I have sound flow enabled in screen recording.

Bottom line, working - but not completely or in a way that feels like it would be conducive to quick workflow. Love to hear any ideas or thoughts!

Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'CS Control' package.

Hey @Zach_McNees From the video it seems that the MF Twister isn't set properly and is sending CC values 0-127 rather than a constant stream of 63when turned left and 65 when turned right.
The pic below shows the settings that should be used. Make sure all Knobs are set to the same encoder type and all buttons to the same switch type.
Make sure you push the button to send the settings to the twister.

You can confirm that the controller is sending the proper messages with this free MIDI Monitor program:

Thanks! I actually had this all configured this way already including the ENC 3FH/41H setting.

              1. I also noticed that your S1 is also switching to SoundFlow while turning the knob. You should remove SoundFlow from the applications tab (this won't affect the ability for Econ to send SF commands). Just select SoundFlow and click "-":

Yes I noticed the S1 switching but I don’t have any apps added in the applications tab in EUCON. I will test with the S1 off ebtirely and see if that affects performance of CS control.

                    1. Just to be sure - in the MF editor you have to click each knob on the right side of the screen and change the setting -it's not global. In your picture above the top right knob is selected(outlined in blue) and is configured properly.
However in the video you're turning the bottom left knob and it looks like the dot indicators are set to bar which would only work if the knob is set to CC instead of ENC 3FH/41H.

You can set the CC type for all knobs like this:

Ohh, that’s helpful. I would recommend maybe updating the setup instructions to include this info! Will try thanks!

@Chris_Shaw this worked beautifully, thank you. Solved all issues, including the mapping image. One thing I would suggest is to be a bit more detailed and thorough in the setup instructions when it comes to the Midifighter Utility and making sure ALL knobs are changed to the specifications you detailed. I also had to map all buttons by hand for some reason as well.

Question: one of the main reasons I got this all going was so I could use it with Hush Pro, which is a dialogue noise reduction plugin with three faders. With that plugin, the mapping doesn't seem to control the fader. See video: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ff63h25n0aj8m04mc6ets/IMG_1415.MOV?rlkey=h5jk18mohh4owmyivbsfy540b&dl=0

Any advice on what I might be able to tell the creator / coder of the plugin that would allow CS control to make the faders work? I'm just not sure what the technical language is that he would need to implement to make that happen under the hood.

                        1. Hmm,|
I've tried installing the trial of Hush Pro on my rig to see if I could resolve the issue but I keep getting the "not a valid 64 bit plugin" error.

If you are able to use your mouse's scroll wheel with Hush then you probably need to set the app focus for that plugin to PT instead of the default "SF" setting.

Focus the Hush AS plugin, turn mapping on and change the App focus setting to PT.
(As noted in the documentation, it only affects the current plugin and is not a global setting)

I gave that a try, but no change unfortunately.

                              1. Can you control Hush's sliders with the scroll wheel on your mouse?

                                    That doesn't work, no.

                                    1. That's the problem - CS Control uses scroll wheel actions to move slider and knobs.
I plan on implementing mouse drag actions but I'm not sure when I'll have that done.

                                      1. If you know the developer then that could be a feature that you can request - mouse scroll support.

Ah good to know. I can ask Ian to implement scroll wheel actions into Hush. Thanks!
