How to nudge Volume Automation up/down like clip gain

    Hi There,

I'm wondering if this already exists or if it would be possible to create. I would a keyboard shortcut that would allow you to select a section on the timeline and nudge the volume automation line up or down the way you can with clip gain.

    Thanks!

    C.

    1. Hi @Collin_Warren

      Thank you for asking :)
It's not possible to do something entirely the way the clip gain nudging works, but it is possible to create something close (that can in many ways be considered even better when part of a workflow).

Please take a look in the Store at the package "Pro Tools Scroll Faders". This package allows you to control the open Volume Fader of the track output.
You can attach for example a trigger like Ctrl+Cmd+Scroll up to "Fader: Scroll Up" (use Keyboard Trigger for this, even though it's a keyboard modifer+mouse scroll event), and Ctrl+Cmd+Scroll down to "Fader: Scroll Down".
I use this as part of a workflow where I then:

      • While being in Preview mode (Cmd+2 to start preview mode)
      • Press Q to open Track Output window for selected track.
      • Use Ctrl+Cmd+scroll up/down to set volume
      • Press Cmd+3 to write automation to selection
