Installing Ski Remote in Nuendo 12-13
Hi!
I've been using Soundflow with Nuendo 12 for a year. All I have to do is open Nuendo, give some instruction in Soundflow (which doesn't work initially), and then restart Nuendo. After that, it works perfectly. I remember when I installed Ski Remote, I saw some video or read in a forum that somehow the SKI Remote.Bundle file was manually extracted from the installation package, and then copied into the COMPONENTS folder in the STEINBERG directory.
The issue is that I just installed NUENDO 13, and Soundflow is showing an error message saying, "Cubase is not open." I just saw that there is a new version of Ski Remote, but I simply can't find that video I saw when I installed it for Nuendo 12. @JesperA, I know you haven't been too involved with Cubase-Nuendo lately, but I saw in the store that you have 3 apps that run on Cubase 12+.
Do you remember if there is any special way to install Ski Remote in Nuendo 12? Maybe if I do the same with the new version of Ski Remote, it might work in Nuendo 13.
Thanks!!!

Hi Juan.
It is because SoundFlow is not recognizing nuendo 13. I reported this yesterday and it should be fix really soon.
Maybe it’s possibly for you to get a preview build to test it, before it comes in to a real release.Just out of curiosity, what commands/features do you use SKI for?

Hey Jesper!! Thanks for your reply!
I figured it might be something like that. In fact, I wrote to BaseHead because I was having the same issue with their program, and they replied that they had to make some minor adjustments due to something Steinberg had changed, and they sent me a new version, which then worked. So, I hope I can start using Soundflow again soon in Nuendo 13!
I use Soundflow to control some things in Nuendo and in my overall system. Some via MIDI, others using SKI Remote (Perform action), and others by combining Perform action with "press keys," mouse position, and mouse click. I also trigger some macros or presets from the logical editor. I trigger everything from my Stream Deck.
Some examples:
Erase the first character of a track
Number tracks progressively
Show tracks with selected events
Disable and hide empty tracks or selected tracks
Show tracks under the cursor
Color and route tracks
Group tracks and folders
Duplicate without data
Add a Kontakt, Omnisphere, Arturia, or Reason plugin instance
Delete overlaps
Randomize velocity by 5%, 10%
Set velocity at 100
Randomize position +- 10 ticks
Some of these depend on the windows being in the same place when they open because if I move them after setting the mouse position, they no longer work. :( But I'm very careful now, and it usually doesn't happen to me.I have some commands for specific projects that do things like Save As, copy the project name, add the version number, then open the Mixdown window, activate multiple track selection, open the Naming Scheme window, paste the session name, change effects to Master. All with a single click, but I have to use a lot of mouse position and mouse click... But so far, it works, and it saves me a lot of time.
But it would be great if Soundflow could access menus and activate things regardless of where the window is placed...
Do you still use Soundflow a lot in your workflow with Nuendo-Cubase?

Christian!
Thank you very much!
Indeed, it was in the spam folder.
I have already installed version 5.5.0, and after opening and closing Nuendo 13, it is working again!
Thank you very much!
Do you have plans to continue developing SoundFlow for Nuendo?
It would be great if it could see open windows and choose options without having to use SET MOUSE POSITION or MOUSE CLICK.
Thanks again!
Juan Garcia
