Could you try doing a "restart" of SoundFlow from the menubar app and see if the UI picker behaves correctly from there?
- Click the Menubar app

Click the dot above the "Help/Issue" button to see the second set of options

Click "Restart SoundFlow"

Try using the UI picker once again.

Thanks for the clear explanation...yes I am familiar with this process. Did that about 3 or 4 times. ;-( Then restarted ProTools. It fixed it temporarily, but if history repeats itself, the bugger will return!

I'm glad it fixed it temporarily! If it does return, please let us know if you can identify any causes. I have only encountered that error a few times, and typically, a quick restart of SoundFlow has cleared the cache and allowed SoundFlow's UI picker to work as expected.

Just to add to what @Chad said. This error typically occurs if a new version of Pro Tools has been installed after SoundFlow was last opened.
Did you by chance install a new version of Pro Tools? (It looks like the last version of Pro Tools that SoundFlow was aware of was PT 2022.9.)
In this scenario... quitting SoundFlow from the SoundFlow menu and relaunching it from the Application folder should fix the issue.
Hopefully that will avoid frustration when updating Pro Tools or other apps you use SoundFlow to control in future. :-)

This particular bug should be fixed in 5.5.2 when it comes out :)
