Bounce Factory Support
The best and fastest way to get help with any Bounce Factory problem is to send the User Files and (if applicable) a screen recording of Bounce Factory failing. The easiest way to do this is to use the "Report a Problem" button in the app:
1. Go to the Bounce Factory settings using the cog in the bottom-right of the app:
2. Click the red "Report A Problem…" button at the bottom of the Settings screen
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Thanks!

Hi @Daniel_Anglister ,
Unfortunately you are in the same boat as I am, an M3 Max computer and no way to use it! Pro Tools is not compatible with OS 14 Sonoma yet. While the program works well for the most part, the reason it's not qualified is that Apple changed a ton of stuff under the hood that affects accessing menus among other things. This makes both SoundFlow and Pro Tools incompatible for the moment.
My M3 Max MacBook Pro is sitting in its box...
Thanks and happy New Year,

Hi @andew_Scheps ,
ahh that's too bad.Unfortunately my previous Mac is in a different country now.
I might actually have go back to printing stems like some Neanderthal :).Or see if my girlfriend's M1 can do it possibly.
Any idea when you'll get support for Sonoma?
Thank you for replying.
Happy New Years,
Daniel

As far as I understand it the ball is in Apple’s court, so I don’t really want to guess…

Hi!
So I was off bounce factory for a while, and about a month ago I saw it was updated for Sonoma.
It worked on my M3 the last time I tried it, but when I try now it does the same thing and I can't get it to work. It opens up the preferences window and fails.2023 M3 max/Sonoma 14.1/Pro Tools Ultimate 2024.3.1 / Sound Flow 5.7.7/ Bounce Factory 1.6.11
Thank you,
Daniel

Hi @Daniel_Anglister ,
Can you please run the Collect User Files script so I can see the logs?
Thanks,

A screen recording of it failing would be great too if possible

Hi @Daniel_Anglister ,
That is very odd indeed, and the logs are conflicting. Could you try trashing the Bounce Factory prefs? I'm not positive this will fix it, but it's definitely worth a try.
Go to
~/Library/Application Support/SoundFlow/V2/pkg
In there you'll see folders with long odd names. In one of them (or possibly more than one, in which case look for files with the most recent date) there will be a folder that looks something like this:
Trash the file called
bounceFactoryAppSettings.sbf
and relaunch the app. If it still fails email me at info@bouncefactory.net and we'll find a time to zoom and figure this out. Thanks,

Hey,
Tried it, still didn't work - now it freezes when loading while giving out these error messages:
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Go ahead and quit BF, delete that whole folder in the pkg directory, uninstall and re-install BF and then try again. It's having some serious fundamental problems...

It's acting like a file permissions issue. Do you have file vault on or something like that?
Daniel Anglister @Daniel_Anglister
Oh wow, File Vault was on! didn't realize...
Turned it off and reinstalled BF after cleaning the PKG folder - Problem still persists unfortunately.Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Wow, so weird? The same as the second problem with the loading screen?
Daniel Anglister @Daniel_Anglister
Yes. Opens Pro Tools preferences.
If Pro Tools is open before BF it won't even load. If after it will happen when i press "Take Snapshot"

Updated to Sonoma 14.4.1 and Bounce Factory appears to be working fine! Thanks,

Hi Again,
It Appears now I have a different problem at a later stage.
BF tries to Save a session with a name starting with a "." and PT rejects it and than BF errors.Daniel Anglister @Daniel_Anglister
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Thanks a lot for the screen recording, it really helps me see what's going on. I'm not 100% positive but I think the issue is that the Finder's save dialog isn't expanded. Try manually saving a copy and when you get to dialog below click the downward arrow which will expand the dialog. Then when BF runs it will get the dialog that way and it should work. I will see if there's a way I can have Bounce Factory check for that but somehow it's never come up before!
Daniel Anglister @Daniel_Anglister
Yep, that fixed it! bouncing right now.
Thanks Andrew
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Excellent! I’ll log the bug and see what I can do.

This will be fixed in the next build of Bounce Factory. Thanks again for reporting!
