Select Channel Strip in Logic Pro

I'd love to be able to have a macro to select a saved channel strip. Either on a direct track or send to bus then insert the channel strip on that bus. Any ideas?

      Hi @Luke_Fitton,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

You can recall your Channel Strip Settings in the Logic Pro Inspector (for both the left and right channel strips) by creating presets for the "Recall Track Preset" Command Template located in the "Track Functions" folder of the Logic Pro package.

For example, let's say I wanted to recall a pre-made channel strip setting named "Vocal Startup1" on the left channel of the inspector and one called "Reverb Startup1" on the right channel of the inspector. Let's assume these two presets exist as "Channel Strip Settings" in Logic.

First, we'd need to create two presets in the "Recall Track Preset" command template.

      To do this:

    2. - Select the "Recall Track Preset" Command Template and click "Add New Preset."
    3. - Name it "Vocal Startup1." This will create a new preset in the Command Templates "My Presets" folder.
    4. - Next, ensure that this new preset's values are set to "Inspector Left" and the menu path of your desired Channel Strip Setting. Reference the path in the Channel Strip Setting menu in Logic if needed. For me, that is: "Vocals," then "Vocal Startup1."
    5. - You can create another preset by clicking "Add New Preset" again or using ⌘D to Duplicate the "Vocal Startup1" preset.
    6. - Name this second preset "Reverb Setup." Fill in the values of this new preset with "Inspector Right" and the menu path of your desired Channel Strip Setting. For me, that is: "User Channel Strip Settings," then "Reverb Startup1."
    7. Then, you can add triggers to these presets or add them to a deck.

Is there an easy way to send a track to a bus? (not add a send. Rather, change the output to "Bus 1" for example)

            Hi @Luke_Fitton,

Thanks for reaching out about this. And my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Chad and I have been discussing a possible bug with the "Recall Track Preset" command, we've logged it internally. We'll keep you posted once it's been resolved.

Let us know if you experience an issue with Chad's instructions as we may have a temporary workaround till the issue is fixed.

Thanks for checking out the Logic Pro package :-)
