Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'Pro Tools Spotting' package.
This package is made by @chrscheuer. We're auto-tagging them here so that they will hopefully be able to help you.

Please note, that the best way to get help with a script, macro or other content installed from the Store is to select the script you installed, then click the red Need help button, and then click "Get help with this script or macro".
By using this workflow, the developer of the package will get access to more information so they'll be able to help you quicker.

        1. Hi Michael

I'm sorry to see that you're getting this error. Have you tried restarting SoundFlow and/or updating to the latest version (5.7.0) from my.soundflow.org ?

If you're still seeing issues, please report an issue so we have access to your log files:

I finally got it open but now running into this when i click on a button to spot.

              1. Thanks, Michael. Yikes, that's super annoying. Can I get you to file a report so we can see your log files?

                1. A quick note is that this usually happens because the Clip Rename dialog doesn't come up. Please check if you have a search going on in the clip list, as this can sometimes hinder a clip rename working correctly in PT.

so i just realized...I was expecting this program to drop markers in realtime on the timeline with custom names. What im gathering is that this simply renames clips ? am i missing something?

                          1. Hi Michael,

The app is designed to be used for creating named clip groups based on selections you make, not in real-time.

If you're looking for a workflow that supports real-time registering of notes (that can eventually be turned into markers), the free Notes app might be a better fit. It comes with a "Notes Client" companion app that can be configured with a matrix of pre-defined notes.
Once you add those notes to your project, you can later export them as markers in Pro Tools.
