Cubase Insert PopUp Window doesn`t react

    Hey @Jesper_Ankarfeldt ,

    thanks for sharing this!
I`m about to figure out, if it makes sense for me to switch from PT to Cubase:)
Regarding your patch, I actually only want to use the "PlugIn Inserts Popup Menu".
I installed the package, but when I type anything to the popup window nothing happens.
    I get this mesage:

"11.03.2024 13:32:37.34 [Backend]: Logging error in action (01) CubendoPerformAction: Error: Timeout: Cubase not open or Cubase SKI not installed

11.03.2024 13:32:37.35 [Backend]: !! Command Error: Plugin Inserts Popup Window [user:cltmwwb8t0002sa10jflzpmqt:cjs14sa2r0000ip10w8bwespi]:
Error: Timeout: Cubase not open or Cubase SKI not installed (Plugin Inserts Popup Window: Line 6)"

I installed the SKI Remote and ticked off the authentication.
    Do you have any idea?
I´m on Cubase 13 Pro. ( ..wich looks awful by the way. I hope they´ll change that:)

    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers
    Stephan

Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'Cubase Plugins Functions' package.
This package is made by @JesperA. We're auto-tagging them here so that they will hopefully be able to help you.

Please note, that the best way to get help with a script, macro or other content installed from the Store is to select the script you installed, then click the red Need help button, and then click "Get help with this script or macro".
By using this workflow, the developer of the package will get access to more information so they'll be able to help you quicker.
You can read more about how to best get help in this article: bit.ly/sfscripthelp

Hi Stephan. Sorry to hear the script don't work properly. That's annoying. Cubase SKI was pretty weird for a long time.
          .
I actually did an updated set of scripts that should be much more stable etc. Check out the package:
          https://soundflow.org/store/pkg/channel-settings-plugins-and-routing-cubase
          .
With that said, I also found Cubase/Nuendo 13 ugly and pretty terrible.
Non of my projects ran properly in it, and that made me look for something else.
Also I had hit many dead ends in terms of optimizing my workflow in Nuendo, and having more advanced functionality when working with midi.
          .
So now I'm in REAPER (since December) and really happy.
But this also means I'll only be doing limited maintaining/fixes of the cubase scripts in Soundflow.
          .
Best regards and let me know if the other package works better.

              Hey Jesper,
thank you so much! And sorry for my late reply.

I couldnt make it work. But you know what: In the meantime in doesnt matter anymore.

Im back to ProTools for mixing. I really tried it with cubase and gave it a chance..invested some time. But in the end I realized, that a lot of stuff, especially in terms of overview and layout are so much better in ProTools than in any other DAW. And its those small things that speed up your worklfow.

For example in PT I never have to see the mixing window because I always see in a very space saving way wich channel has plugins / sends on wich slot and I can reach to everything very fast. With soundflow even faster:)
In cubase you always have a new plugIn window with every plugin. Channel layout is terrible..and so on:) everything is so cluttered and exhausting for the eyes. Before I didnt know that this can be a gamechanger.. I wanted a DAW that implements "Softube Console 1" and "SSL UC1" 100% (PT doesnt, wich sucks) but I had to make so many compromises that it is not worth it. Besides that Cubase has a ton of cool features that ProTools doesn`t...
In the end I had to decide on wich end I want to compromise:)

              Thanks again for sharing Jesper!
              Best
              Stephan
