Forum SUG - Add a "Go to Latest Post" Button
@KajMagnus, it would be awesome to have a button at the top of a post that takes you to the latest post on a thread.
This would be particularly useful in long threads where the latest post is not necessarily at the bottom of the thread but rather nested somewhere in the middle.
I'm aware that you can sort threads to "Newest first", but that changes the whole structure of the thread which makes it hard to follow the conversation as it happened. I'd be happy with a quick "Go to Latest Post" button.

Example of a thread that where this would be great to have Custom Adjustments to Track Height

Try this: To the right, there should be a sidebar — if you can't see it, there should be a Recent posts button in the upper right corner that expands that sidebar. There's three tabs: Recent, Bookmarks (implementing now ...) & Users.
If you click Recent, and then click the topmost comment in the list — then you'll jump to the latest post on that page.
I'm not sure if everyone can see the sidebar? (Can you?) There's some custom CSS in this forum.

It's great to know that the sidebar and the Recent list, maybe isn't so "discoverable" (assuming that you can see the sidebar). I mean, why would people start looking for small buttons in the corners, and then click a Recent tab.
I start thinking it could indeed be good with a "Go to latest comment" button (thanks for the idea), ... Hmm, maybe it could be placed in the same line as the Reply button, but left-aligned. There's some empty space there. (And, on pages with just 1 or 2 replies, it wouldn't be needed.)

I agree :- ) I find Reddit and HackerNews mildly annoying for that reason — no way to know what's happened, what more comments have been posted, in a 100+ long discussion. I have to reload & scan the whole page from top to bottom (since, like you mentioned, Newest first doesn't care about sub threads).

@KajMagnus, ah yes, I see it! Didn't know this existed but yes it does exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

Yes, either that or something like this:
(this makes sense to me since this area has to do with managing posts)
Thanks for considering it! 🙏🏼

Nice idea, yes I think it's better to place it there, for the reason you mentioned. Thanks for the idea & screenshot :- ) Planning to include in the upcoming version
