Hi, new to Bounce Factory here. I was very excited to hear the update for Sonoma. I updated sound flow and bounce factory but I am having it give me an error when taking the snapshot. It just says "there was an error finishing snapshot. Below is a folder to the logs and a screen recording of the problem.

Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'Scheps Bounce Factory' package.
This package is made by @Andrew_Scheps. We're auto-tagging them here so that they will hopefully be able to help you.

Please see support instructions here from @Andrew_Scheps:

        Bounce Factory Support

The best and fastest way to get help with any Bounce Factory problem is to send the User Files and (if applicable) a screen recording of Bounce Factory failing. The easiest way to do this is to use the "Report a Problem" button in the app:

        1. Go to the Bounce Factory settings using the cog in the bottom-right of the app:

        2. Click the red "Report A Problem…" button at the bottom of the Settings screen

        3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

        Thanks!
        Andrew

            Hi @Trenton_Bylo ,

Thanks for sending the files. For the screen recording could you use Quicktime Player to capture the screen your Edit Window is on as you try to take the Snapshot? The logs don't tell me exactly what's going on but it's having trouble with a few different things, so seeing it fail would be really helpful.

            Thanks,
            Andrew

                    Hi @Trenton_Bylo ,

The issue is that you have Bounce Factory covering up some of the send and insert slots. When you switch to the Edit Window make sure the BF window is only covering the actual audio edits, not any of the menus, I/O clip list etc. That should fix it. There's a Best Practices video that explains how to make it all work. You can launch it from the package.

Thanks for the info. So I moved the window like you said to make sure it didn't cover up anything. I also watched the videos a few times to try and see if I was doing something else wrong but I'm still getting the same error.

                          Hi @Trenton_Bylo ,

You’re running PTs 23.9 which isn’t compatible with SoundFlow (or Bounce Factory) on Sonoma unfortunately.

PTs will work, but there are bugs in how it uses menus that they fixed in 24.3. If you want to keep your current version of Pro Tools around just in case, just rename the ”Pro Tools” app in the Applications folder. It will install the new one without touching the old one. Once you’re on 24.3 everything should be working.

                          Thanks,
                          Andrew

Ok so I updated to 24.3 and still same issue.

Tried on another session, same issue. Both tried saving a copy to a PT folder from a totally different song, the same song? and the after that it gives the error. You can see it in the screen recording. New logs and screen recording

                                  Hi @Trenton_Bylo ,

Man, you are running up against just about everything that could possibly happen. It's getting a lot further, but this time it's a bug that I've already fixed but haven't published yet. It's to do with your Save dialog being collapsed. If you manually do Save Session Copy In... and get to the point where you decide where to save the session, you'll see that the dialog is not showing folder contents etc. Click the expand button (in red on the picture below). You can then cancel, PTs will remember how it was set. After that you'll be able to get past that stage. BF will do this for you once I publish the next version (hopefully later today). I'd love to say everything will work but you've been finding everything so far...
