    Sound flow keeps going off line, after re install takes forever to start

    System Information

    SoundFlow 5.7.7

    OS: darwin 21.6.0

    ProductName: macOS
    ProductVersion: 12.7.4
    BuildVersion: 21H1123

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. have re installed ver 5.7.7 ( was already on 5.7.7, on a mac 12.7.4)
    2. re started after install.

    Expected Result

    it to work. my internet is fine, wife watching netflicks, but i cant work

    Actual Result

    did not work, once app open says ' offline' after long start up

    Workaround

    have re installed ver 5.7.7 ( was already on 5.7.7, on a mac 12.7.4) re started after install. no luck

    Other Notes

    i seem to waste a lot of time wishing app would works as advertised

    1. Hi Jonathan,

      I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble using SoundFlow. Are you by any chance using SF behind a firewall or VPN?

      When looking through your log files I see quite a bit of non-normal events occuring, for example what looks like attempts at launching the app several times when it's already running (for example if you're using multiple macOS users at the same time). It could also be for other reasons, but it does appear that the app was unable to start a few times in a row due to an old process still lingering on (or being logged into another macOS account at the same time). A restart of your computer should generally fix that - or, you could run this in Terminal to make sure to clean up any old processes if something went bad:

      pkill -9 SoundFlow sfbackend
      

      From logs from the past few days the behavior looks more normal.

      Would you be able to provide a full screen recording of the behavior you're seeing so we can correlate what you're experiencing more with what's going on in the log?
