Bounce Factory fails with Pro Tools 2024.6 session containing ARA data
If I try bouncing mixes from a session containing ARA data, Bounce Factory gets as far as the "Choose a file to import session data from" screen, and fails. It keeps trying to select something on that screen, as indicated by an OS "bleep" sound as if it is selecting something that isn't there. It will continue with this, until I cancel the operation.
Also, within the Pro Tools session folder, each time I try to do this, a copy of the session folder is created, containing the Pro Tools session file and a second ARA folder.

Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'Scheps Bounce Factory' package.

Bounce Factory Support
The best and fastest way to get help with any Bounce Factory problem is to send the User Files and (if applicable) a screen recording of Bounce Factory failing. The easiest way to do this is to use the "Report a Problem" button in the app:
1. Go to the Bounce Factory settings using the cog in the bottom-right of the app:
2. Click the red "Report A Problem…" button at the bottom of the Settings screen
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Thanks!

The issue is actually when making the Snapshot, and will only happen if there is uncommitted ARA data.
I have a fix for this but it's a bit invasive so I need to test it thoroughly before publishing. Should be out soon!

Hey @Andrew_Scheps I'm having the same issue with sessions containing ARA and just updated to Pro Tools 2024.6. I know you're working on a fix but is there a workaround so it's not looking for ARA data folders every time? I keep getting the BATCH BOUNCE ERROR dialog
Thanks a ton!!!

Hi @Matt_Wolach ,
Have you updated Bounce Factory to 1.7.2? The fix is in there and should be working.
- MMatt Wolach @Matt_Wolach
Yep maybe I need to restart my machine?
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
If it continues to not work please upload user files and a screen recording to a new thread. Are there extra folders being left in your session folder?
- MMatt Wolach @Matt_Wolach
Yes if it continues, i'll upload user files and a screen recording to a new thread. Yeah it's created a separate folder with the name of the session but ending in _s1720729938022
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Hmm, that's exactly what 1.7.2 should have fixed. Also make sure you're on the latest SoundFlow.

BTW, unfortunately it's the Snapshots that are corrupt. If you took them with anything before 1.7.2 and you have the un-rendered ARA data you'll need to re-take the Snapshots. Just updating BF won't fix them.
- MMatt Wolach @Matt_Wolach
Yep it worked! I had done it before I updated BF. I just redid the snapshots and loading in the snapshot files and it worked! Thanks Andrew
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Awesome! And you can delete that extra folder
