How to Delete a SF Package That I Created

By Ron Aston @Ron_Aston

Yesterday I created 2 SF packages that I uploaded to the forum. They weren't created the correct way so I'd like to delete them from the Package Forum. I just created a replacement for 1 of them but after uploading it, I realized that I had sent the wrong one. I'd like to delete all 3 packages and then correctly upload the right ones.

    Sorry about my confusion.

    1. Hi Ron.

You cannot delete packages that are already published. You just upload a new version of the existing packages, as I mentioned in the other thread. When you publish the new version it will override the existing version.
We cannot delete published packages because then it would break functionality for anybody who would have installed those packages.

      1. It appears to me that you've already done this now - updated the packages. They look great!

        1. It does appear though as if you've added the version information to the name. You shouldn't do that.
Your package is linked to the published package. Whenever you publish a new version it gets updated.
SoundFlow takes care of all version control etc., so please remove the version information from the name of the packages and then publish a new version.

              Done

              1. Hm strange, it doesn't update correctly here. Can you show me a screenshot of your SoundFlow (whole app) when you're in the package that you publish?

                1. Never mind this is an SF bug where it doesn't update the name (I think). Let me do some manual checks

                  1. Yay, it works now.

So the last part you need is to fill out the "Short Description". That's what will be shown in the white area here on the Store.

Check the Store for examples of how other people write the Short Description:
                    https://soundflow.org/store

The Short Description field is just above the Long Description field:

Great!!! Needless to say...I don't know how a lot of this stuff works yet. I'm trying my best, though.

                        1. You're making amazing progress Ron! Keep up the good work :)

I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your help and guidance. Not to mention....your patience. :-)))

Ahh. Glad that you were able to determine that as a bug. FTR, I'm trying to do as much communication with the forum through the web browser rather than the app as you suggested several days ago because of things like this. Thanks for getting on it.

                              1. Great! Since 3.3.3 is out the forum should be back to more stable inside the app - feel free to log new bug reports in the beta forum as you see any bugs with the forum inside the app.

Thanks Christian. I hope some users will find them useful.

                          1. Definitely. As soon as I have tested them we'll send out links on social media :)
