Are My Presets Gone?

By Thomas Linder @Thomas_Linder

I had a minor accident here, with a KeyboardMaestro(KM) script triggered in the wrong context and somehow deleting my installed Logic package. I had folders of 3rd party Plugin presets defined and ready to be loaded into decks (about a 120 presets). Now, I only see the pre-labeled decks, but not the folders with custom presets. I'm about to re-install the Logic package, but before I do anything...are those presets gone for good? I immediately hit the SF Undo a few times, but nothing came back, but I also want to be sure they can't be recovered somehow before I start over. Thanks.

      Hi @Thomas_Linder,

I'm sorry to hear that, however,

You should be able to revert all your settings to a previous backup by going here:
      https://soundflow.org/account/backups

Please note that restoring to a backup will erase any changes you've made since that backup was made.

Uh-oh. Unless that backup was made automatically, I never made a backup. I just plowed ahead with the Editor, without yet thinking about backing up!

            Hi @Thomas_Linder.

SoundFlow automatically does a backup every 24 hours. So there should be backups to revert to. :-)

Whew. That's a relief. I'll probably only lose the presets I did this afternoon, then. The SF website currently appears to be down at the moment. (The account backup link doesn't resolve and I can't seem to access anything else on the site that involves logging in first). I'll try again in the morning (GMT-6). Thanks!

                1. Hi Thomas,

I haven't seen any other reports of problems on the website. If it reoccurs for you, please be in touch on support@soundflow.org so we can investigate more. Perhaps it's a problem specific to your account or to the browser you were using.

Everything worked out fine in the end, I was able to execute the Restore and verified that it worked (Yay!). However, the logging in and restoration had to occur on a different Mac than the one I'm running SF on for that to happen. Nevertheless, the SF ui is working and the editor itself is active and showing the restored state. When I return home this afternoon I'll try to figure out what's going on with the Ventura version of Safari that I'm using, that is apparently OK hosting this forum, but won't open a link posted within the forum. Anyway, I'm just thankful I was able to restore! As I've almost automated the creation of 3rd party plugins and instruments, I'll recover what I lost yesterday in short order. Thanks for the help!

                      1. Thanks, Thomas. Please feel free to open a separate thread for Safari on Ventura so we can look into that bug - my guess is it should be an easy fix.
