Current State of Cubase Support

Hello, we're currently trying to make some Cubase 13 scripts but we've hit some road blocks.

Within SoundFlow 5.7.8, when I navigate to SoundFlow > Cubase & Nuendo I see a message about how "the SKI component has stability issues under recent versions of Cubase & Nuendo" and how the "package is currently considered highly experimental."

However, if I go to the Store tab of SoundFlow and look under the Cubase section, I see a variety of installable packages, none of which seem to mention this instability issue.

So my question is: What is the current state of Cubase support in SoundFlow? Is it worth our time to try and use the packages in the SoundFlow store, or will these instability issues likely prevent us from making progress? In Logic and Pro Tools, we are able to do things like select a track by name and open its first insert. However, in Cubase, it doesn't appear this type of operation is supported, unless we want to use a much more tedious mouseClickRelativeToUIComponent approach.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

    1. Hi Julian,

Unfortunately, the message about the SKI component is likely the most accurate one to describe the current state of things as of this writing (September 2024).

We contacted Steinberg a while back to try to get deeper access so we could continue to build a better SKI-based integration or through other means, but we weren't successful in achieving this at the time.

Since Cubase and Nuendo are also not controllable via Accessibility, we're left with almost no options to remote control those apps.

If you've got some contacts at Steinberg, please feel free to link us up - we'd love to get this going - you know where to reach us via email :)
