Soundflow and DefaulterV2

Hello I am new to Soundflow, just downloaded it an hour ago. I would love DefaulterV2 to analyze audio clips one after the other. So not having to press analyze for each clip. I downloaded Defaulter Tools. I still can't make Defaulter do that. What is it I am missing here? ThanX

  1. cc @Chris_Andrews - I believe Chris is the one who made the Defaulter Tools package.

    1. Welcome to SoundFlow, Ulfhildur :)

        Hi @Ulfhildur_Eysteinsdo,

Yes, the Defaulter Tools package is the @Chris_Andrews package. The commands in that package require that you create named presets for each button to work. I just pointed out an issue with the naming for the peak settings to Chris, but the LKFS presets he has in that package should work currently.

That package is based on a code I shared here on the forum. If you'd like to use your own named presets, you can copy the script I shared on this post to a new script in SoundFlow, add the preset name to the parentheses in line 6 of the script, and it should work across multiple clips in that scenario.

Thanks @Chad for the help with that.

@Ulfhildur_Eysteinsdo you need to follow the detailed instructions that I made for the deck. Once that is done, it will allow you to highlight a selection and go through each clip. The application takes just a short amount of setup on your end to work.

Hope this helps, but please read the instructions as I included photos and details

            Best
            Chris

Thank you both @Chad and @Chris_Andrews for taking time to answer me, I really appreciate it :)
I did all the presets and made sure I only checked the ´work to LKFS´box when making the LKFS presets. So what happends now is that I pick a LKFS preset and click analyze and then it just analyzes one clip. If I check the ´fire macro keys´as well it analyzes the clip and then moves one to the next one but doesn´t analyze it. I still need to click analyze. I tried to get rid of fades but still I always need to click analyze.
The scripts look exactly the same.

Hey can you add a few screenshots of your plugin for me so I can see what you are working with

                  Thanks

                      Hi @Ulfhildur_Eysteinsdo,

Do you have the Keyboard Maestro's Defaulter macros running by chance? That causes a conflict with the script the Defaulter Tools package is based on from my tests. It's best to have the Defaulter Keyboard Maestro macros disabled in Keyboard Maestro and also the Defaulter presets saved with "fire macros" unchecked.

Here's a quick video of how it's working on my system. It does seem to throw an error if there is a fade out on the last file, but otherwise, it's processing multiple clips for me pretty well. You get the best results in general if you remove fades for this operation, but it should get pretty close with them intact.

Also, the script I'm using to check LUFS with the Pro Limiter Loudness Analyzer is in my CW Pro Tools Utilities Package on the Store. It's called "Measure Loudness with Pro Limiter Loudness Analyzer (Track or Aux)."

                  2. U

Thanks again @Chad so much for your help and I really appreciate your video :)

Well, what has happened in since I last was trying to use the macro I upgrated to ProTools Ultimate and got myself a subscription of SoundFlow. Then I started working on a new film today so I was hoping to be able to use Defaulter in this way.
Unfortunately it still does not work. Looking at the video the only difference I saw between on your script page was that I didn´t have a trigger set like you so I went ahead and made the same one you have.
                    Yours:

                    And mine:

Still does not work and what else doesn´t work is if a press run command in SoundFlow while having ProTools running it does not do anything...
I did install Keyboard Maestro before SoundFLow. I have deleted it along with all cache stuff and that and restored System Setting - Keyboard shortcuts.

                      Hi @Ulfhildur_Eysteinsdo,

Thanks for the response! I'm sorry that the defaulter scripts aren't working on your machine. They're still functioning here for me.

Do any commands in SoundFlow work for you at the moment? Can you try doing "run preset" or "run command" on another soundflow command?

For example, does running a preset for the "Open AudioSuite" command work?

Regardless, It'd be great if you could file a "help issue" via this workflow:
                      https://soundflow.org/docs/help#help-issue

The "help issue" workflow will create a new bug report in the forum with encrypted log files so the SoundFlow Team can examine it more closely. If you click "run command," nothing happens, and no errors are shown, that makes me think it's a different issue than something specific to the defaulter scripts.

One more note for you, @Ulfhildur_Eysteinsdo.

The most important setting to check for SoundFlow to work correctly is to ensure that System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility is enabled.

Similarly, Pro Tools also needs Accessibility access for Defaulter to work correctly. From the Quiet Art website:
                        https://quietart.co.nz/defaulter/

So, please ensure that both Pro Tools and SoundFlow have Accessibility enabled in System Settings > Privacy and Security > Accessibility on your Mac.
