      Hi @Juan_Arboleda

Can you share a screenshot of the two text fields you are trying to set?

Hopefully, I can find a solution for you. :-)

          Hi Kitch!

          Absolutely, here it is.

i'm trying to get "Strength" text field to change.

          Thank you!

            Hi @Juan_Arboleda,

Here's a quick YouTube video answering this question and also giving some more context on setting text values with SoundFlow:

The most important piece of the puzzle are as follows:

            • Use the "Set Value of TextField with Text Area" action in SoundFlow
            • Use the "Pick" button to select the "Strenght" text field.
            • Click on the third element of the path created from the pick action and choose "4. Text Field" to keep the path as generic as possible.
            • Set a Value Parameter
            • Click the Gear Icon in the macro action to show "Advanced Properties"
            • Then set, "Use Mouse & Keyboard" to "Yes"

Thank you so much! That’s awesome! Very thorough explanation! Works like a charm!

Quick question—can that be set as a variable to prompt it? I want to run the macro, get the prompt, and have it open, run, and close without applying—just setting it. I have a separate set of macros for quantizing.

                Hi @Juan_Arboleda,

Yes, of course. I went ahead and made a second video for this question because I feel like it illustrates some concepts that other users may find helpful:

Here's the process of using a prompt in written form:

                • Create a macro with a "Text Popup" macro action.
Next, create a macro action for "Set Value of Text Field with Text Area" (set up as we did previously to "Use Mouse & Keyboard") to fill the "4th Text Field" of the Quantize Window.
                • Drag the yellow "text" box at the bottom of the "Text Popup" macro action to the "Value" field.
                • Run the macro action.
                • You will be prompted to provide a value.
                • Then that value will be filled for the "Strength" parameter of the Quantize window.

From there, you'd need to add the other steps I outline in the video to open the window and then close it again.

                  Chad!

Thank you so much! That was very clear and opens up a lot of possibilities for the macros I have in mind!

Thanks again for the thorough explanation—having it as a video helps a ton!

                  Best,
                  Juan

                    Hi, @Juan_Arboleda,

Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful.

Reach out in the "How To" section of the forum or using the “Script or Macro Help” Workflow if you have questions about specific workflows you are working on.

                    Best,
                    Chad
