Slow response on big sessions
Hi @Kitch ,
How are you? One of the engineers I work with, @Mikel_f_Krutzaga , mentioned on one of our big sessions we have for an upcoming movie score, he is finding the process of inserting plugins through the Teezio's package slow (sometimes even waiting for a full minute on loading).
Is there a way to speed up the process?
My guess is:
- There is some type of "invalidate" / analyse/cache the "track list" and current inserts which needs to happen prior to insert a plugin.
Could that be reduced to "scan only the selected track" to speed up the process?
Also, I read in one of Christian's posts:
"Frequent calls to sf.ui.proTools.invalidate() or sf.ui.proTools.mainWindow.invalidate() will mean all tracks will need reloading, which could cause slowdowns in large sessions."
Ways to speed up "sf.ui.proTools.trackGetSelectedTracks"? #post-2
Maybe something on these lines???
Cache contents of a popup menu to speed up search times. #post-6
[Apologies if this has nothing to do with it!].
Thanks a lot!!! Appreciated always all the help and hard work!!! :-)
Best,
Vanessa G.

Thanks for reaching out about this.
I'd have to see @Mikel_f_Krutzaga's SoundFlow log files and see the Teezio's Plugin Loader preset that they are running to know exactly what is occurring here.
As a first troubleshooting step, I'd suggest checking that Mikel has the latest version of SoundFlow and Teezio's Plugin Loader installed.
If after doing so, the issue persists, please have them log a bug report, tagging me with...
- A link to this thread
- A screenshot of the preset that is causing the issue
- It may also be helpful to get a copy of the large Pro Tools session (without audio of course) to see if I can reproduce the speed issue. (If this is an option please send it to me via email.)
There is a chance that invalidating could be slowing things down but I'd need to rule out other causes first. :-)
