BF is asking me to get "Pro" when I try to use a "Basic" feature
Hey there @Andrew_Scheps
I'm bouncing mixes and stems for a project - pretty straight forward - All within the same PT session.
I'm having an issue in which BF is asking me to purchase the "pro" package and is not allowing me to do a basic mix and stem bounce within the same session.
Ideally I want to take different snapshots of different regions of the session and print the mix and stems of each...
Here is a folder with the user files zip as well as a screen recording

Of course my deadline is tonight, and although I don't use BF often, but I do I need it to work in situations like this...
If you can help ASAP I'll really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
Alexis

Hi @Alexis_Cuadrado ,
I’m not in front of a computer right now so I can’t look at the logs. Are you trying to bounce more than one Snapshot? Can you try bouncing one Snapshot at a time and let me know if that works?

Hey @Andrew_Scheps
Thanks for the quick reply.
I was trying to bounce a regular mix pass and stems of only one snapshot. It seems that the culprit that triggers the "buy pro" pop-up is when you click "bounce all". If I choose "bounce selected" BF bounces anything I've selected even if from multiple snapshots.
I'm now doing the work, but after I'm done I'll be able to experiment a bit more. Happy that I found a workaround! Thanks again!

That’s exactly right. Bounce All is the pro feature because it can be multiple sessions. It would take a lot more code to see if what’s in the app is ok for Basic but I can look at putting that in though!

Glad i figured that out, which wasn't apparent, as in this case my instict would be that "bounce all" means all the snapshots that are in the BF main snapshot list at the time, regardless of whether they are from a unique or multiple sessions. I understand that I can get the same result by just selecting them all and then click on "bounce selected". Don't mean to go meta about the meaning of "all" is :)

Bounce session would work also. I’ll look into it

I need to look at the code to make sure but I think the limitation is one Snapshot at a time, regardless of the number of mix passes, not unlimited Snapshots in one session. The way around this would be to set up all of the mix passes you need to print in one Snapshot, even though they don’t all happen in the same part of the timeline. The important thing is the soloing and muting. Once the Snapshot is taken you can select as many of the mix passes as you want and edit them to change the timeline for those passes.

Once I figured out that "bounce all" was not going to work, I was able to select different parts of the timeline and make multiple snapshots AND stem passes. Once that was done I just selected them and it worked like a charm. I was able to leave the studio and get stuff done, which is the dream come true.
My takeaway is that the functionality of the "bounce selected-session-all" and which work with which tier of BF is not apparently clear. I watched the videos a while back and at least as a user that's not something I would retain. Maybe the "bounce all" could be greyed out if you are on the basic package?
Thanks, @Andrew_Scheps!
Cheers
Alexis

I’ll try to make the messages more clear, greying it out wouldn’t be the way to go, there wouldn’t be a way to upgrade as part of the process if it’s what you wanted to do.

I understand that.
Perhaps stating that "bounce all" is only a pro feature rather in the popup... not sure how you'd explain that if you want to bounce different snapshots in the same session you have to go the "select all" route.
Feel free to reach out if you want any feedback on this.

You can just click Bounce Session. Anyway, I’ll go through the dialogue. Thanks!
