Support multiple codecs

After demand from users, we're starting to support multiple output codecs in the Video Converter app.

cc: @Jonathan_Wales, @Avo_Mardikian.

Please try the new version of the package that's on the Store (v1.2.0).
You'll need to run one of the "Use: " preset commands before launching the app to set the desired preset:

  1. The setting is stored with your macOS user account, so no need to run it every time (unless you need to switch codecs again).

        That is awesome.

Is this the same for the facility version? Where exactly do I run the "Use:" code? Thx

        1. Yes once you get a Store update (send us your most recent .dat and I merge the Store into it and send back) you'll have this as well.
The commands are inside the Video Converter package. It still supports the Levels specific approach (no change for you from last build).

Copy. I will send you a .dat file by the end of our working day today so we can begin the process. Thanks!

              Hi,

just converted (several times on different computers) to MXF for ProTools 2019.12 on Catalina 10.15.3 and all I got was a black picture in PT. Then I used Shutter Encoder and it worked. So there might be something with SF Video Converter.

              thx

              1. Hi Ingo

                Thanks for reporting this.
Would you be able to provide us with a short sample of source video that reproduces this? If so, please send to info@soundflow.org and we can test here to see if there's anything we can do to change our implementation so that it works.

                    Hi,

are there any news on this issue? UnfortunateIy never got it to work on my systems - it's always been black picture in PT with every mp4/mov I tried, but VLC plays fine... Just checked againg after a de- and re-install of Video Converter for PT.
We use DNxHD 36 with MXF OP1a all the time and never have had this issue with another encoder so far (usually we get our exports from Avid/Premiere or use Shutter Encoder).
Would be awesome to use the "Convert Selected File in Finder" macro :)

                    Many thanks
                    Matthias

                    1. The Video Converter for PT uses ffmpeg for the conversion. The SF team is very busy right now with SF vNext so I probably won't be able to look at this until sometime next year.
