Streamdeck keeps prompting me to install profiles for Soundflow, but I only use the iOS App and it won't install profiles - constantly nags me!
Hey! So I have the streamdeck iOS app and have been using that to testdrive the stream deck workflow. The profiles included with the soundflow add-on seem to need a physical streamdeck to work properly because whenever I hit "install profiles" - it does not thing and no profiles are added to my preferences. I have been able to use the soundflow integration still but this pop up constantly nags at me whenever I open my computer and it's very annoying. Is there a way to kill this prompt or include the profiles on iOS version of streamdeck?

Hi Chad.
The Stream Deck app unfortunately has a number of bugs related to profile installation. We have reported these to Elgato numerous times but they have not been fixed yet. This is one of those bugs.
The behavior of the Stream Deck app to show the "Install Profiles" popup unfortunately cannot be controlled from SoundFlow. We have asked them many times to get rid of this popup entirely.
Since Soundflow has its own support for iOS coming, I don't think launching Soundflow commands via the Stream Deck app on iOS is something we'll be able to support any time soon. We would like Stream Deck to focus on fixing their bugs first before we move on to adding more support.
That being said, there might still be a workaround possible for you now, but it can be very tricky to get the Stream Deck settings to be set correctly to not encounter bugs.
Typical troubleshooting includes:
- If you're using the SoundFlow Full Screen profile, and because of that, using Decks you design inside SoundFlow, then don't set a Default profile in Stream Deck, don't assign any Application to the "SoundFlow Full Screen" profile, don't rename the "SoundFlow Full Screen" profile and make sure there are exactly one "SoundFlow Full Screen" profile per device.
This last bit is what is one of the most nasty bugs of their profile installation. Very often the profiles simply don't install on all devices.
To begin with though, it might be that using the iOS Stream Deck version requires you to not use any SoundFlow Decks at all. You would then have to design your decks exclusively in the Stream Deck app and make sure you don't have any Soundflow Decks with triggers.
That is, you'd have to drag-n-drop the SoundFlow Command to your decks inside the Stream Deck app.All in all, because of the huge number of bugs in the Stream Deck app, we currently can only fully support one mode of installation, which is to use the physical devices and with SoundFlow Full Screen profiles.

And I'm sorry I can't be of more help in this - I've just sent a follow up mail to Elgato to please ask them to fix the bugs (we've counted 7-8 major bugs now).
Unfortunately we're forced to work with their SDK as it is right now, but we're trying to come up with solutions to work independently of their SDK so that we can have more control over the user experience.

I totally understand that! Thanks for the quick response as always. So helpful. I made the "SoundFlow Full Screen" for my iPhone and iPad devices and it seems like that has killed the nagging pop up which is the most ideal for me right now. I think I am going to grab a physical stream deck in the next few months, but of course, I'm still very excited for the sound flow iOS companion app to launch.
Have a good day! Thank you @chrscheuer!

Thanks Chad! That's very interesting, so you just made some empty profiles with that name and it started working?

It did for a little while and then it broke again and the notification starting coming again. I just uninstalled that streamdeck workflow and will try again if I get a physical streamdeck!

Makes perfect sense. I've seen the issue pop up here as well.
If you do get a physical Stream Deck, from the next version of SF (about 3.6.1 or 3.7) we will be supporting a direct connection from SF to the physical device so that these types of errors will be a thing of the past, even for people who use those devices.
As I also mentioned we'll get iOS support which is going to be much more powerful than the current Stream Deck iOS App, so with a little patience it should all resolve itself some time soon :)

I have been running into a similar issue on desktop since starting to use actual stream decks instead of my iPad with SoundFlow. my smaller stream deck kept loading the wrong profile (even though I had apps and default profile set correctly), and if I delete the "Soundflow Full Screen" profile, it then loads the proper one every time but I start getting this annoying pop up every time. This only started happening since I installed the stream deck soundflow plugin. Surely there is a way to kill this? Or is there another method to get the proper profile to load on my smaller streamdeck? thx!

Hi Judson,
Please open a new support request for this so we can see your log files:
https://soundflow.org/docs/help#help-issuePlease also note that we don't recommend using the Stream Deck app as it is much more difficult to set things up correctly that way, and it quite often has a lot of bugs (such as the one you're seeing).

ok thanks for the reply. I guess the issue is I want to mix soundflow commands with other things on my stream decks like the free MOM controller and a MIDI command plugin I use (I guess soundflow could do these things but the sf MOM app is a paid thing and the free one works so well). the smaller stream deck that was having the issue of loading the incorrect profile is all soundflow though... so maybe there is a way to remove that from the stream deck app? I will submit a ticket, thank you-
