How to control Dolby Atmos Renderer Monitoring section from SoundFlow?

Hi Ivo.
I haven't tried this myself, I don't have the Dolby suite. Just to be absolutely sure what you mean, is this a Pro Tools plugin or a separate application?
Can you send us some screenshots of how it looks? You might be able to do this via our normal UI Automation methods.- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
Thanks Christian!
Dolby Atmos Renderer is separate Application.
This is the screenshot of the app:This is the part I would like to control:
It would be great to be able to control this while I'm working on Pro Tools. And of course it would be awesome to be able to control the knob volume with any knob controller like AVID Dock (EUCON).
I will research a little bit the UI Automation methods.
Thanks!

I tried to click on UI element, but it seems Dolby Atmos Renderer is just an only main Window.

Gotcha. Do you know about the "Mouse Click Relative to UI Element" action and how it works?
Using this you can use relative coordinates to click inside such windows that don't have their child elements exposed. You can follow the guide here to see how it works:
https://forum.soundflow.org/-1828#post-2- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
That worked! Thanks
So, now...Is there any way to avoid to bring to front the app? I mean, click on the buttons in the background. What I'm trying to do is to control the volume while working in Pro Tools.
Also, can a mouse dragging be simulated over the "Attenuation" knob?
Christian Scheuer @chrscheuer2020-04-11 18:01:10.266Z
Unfortunately when we have to resort to Mouse Simulation, the thing that we click needs to be in the foreground. This is opposite to UI Automation - so for example when you can use the Click UI Element which is UI Automation, it doesn't need to be in the foreground. But when we're simulating mouse events, it does.
The only real good way to do this interaction with the Dolby Atmos Renderer, is if we get access from Dolby to work with their underlying API. I know they must have one, since there's a Dolby Atmos Renderer Remote that works over the network.

Thanks for the explanation, now I understand it better.
I have just asked in the Dolby developers forum about the API. Let's see...
- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
David Gould from Dolby answered and currently, they don't have an available API but they are investigating about it.

Wow that was a quick reply!
Make sure to let them know I'd be interested in having a conversation about it. We have had many, many requests about adding support for this. Is there any way I could join the discussion in there - would you recommend that?- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
Sure, I will let him know.

One way I figured was to enter a value in -dB in and hit enter. That works for me. The mouse relative click didn’t work for me. How did you manage to get it?
- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
Hello @Sreejesh_Nair2!
I thought about entering a value and kind of made it work but for some reason, it was kind of slow and buggy. I will keep trying...How did you make it work? This is how I made it work the click on "DIM"button: (please note the window has to be maximized. Also the relative position may change depending on the displays used)

@Ivan_Markovic I sent you a link to join a Slack channel where we'll be discussing this :) Make sure to check your spam folder / inbox and join us there :)

Got it! Thanks man!

Hi Ivan, any progress with this? I'd like to make a workflow that copies a selection timecode from Pro Tools to the Dolby RMU, but the RMU doesn't even allow copy and paste of the numeric value.
It would be great if Dolby made some Changs to open that up.
- IIvan Markovic @Ivan_Markovic
Unfortunately, no...in the new version of the Renderer (3.5) they added some shortcuts and that's all.

Just checking in, has there been any other progress on this. Would love to be able to create mouse ui click to control rec, Punch in and out, and other modes with in Dolby Atmos. Mouse click relative to UI doesn't seem to be working.
Thanks!

Yes, any progress?

Bueller?

Hey guys, I found a way easier solution for this.
Follow the order:
- Create a macro;
- Add action > Launch Application > Dolby Atmos Render
- Add action > Type Text > 5 (for 2.0)
- That's it. This is for 2.0. For Physical or any other, just create a new one following the same steps, just changing the number.
1 - Physical
2 - 7.1.4
3 - 7.1
4 - 5.1
5 - 2.0This way it launches the DAR and automatically changes the monitoring as wanted using the Dolby Atmos Renderer default shortcuts.

Ive updated my Dolby atmos package for this and much more including speaker mutes as well. Have a look if it helps.
