    Pro Tools crashing on launch when Soundflow running

    System Information

    SoundFlow 6.2.1

    OS: darwin 25.4.0

    ProductName: macOS
    ProductVersion: 26.4
    BuildVersion: 25E246

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Soundflow active in background
    2. Open Pro Tools, startup window flashes quickly and app crashes
    3. Close Soundflow
    4. Pro Tools opens normally

    Expected Result

    Both apps can run and open

    Actual Result

    Pro tools crashes

    Workaround

    Close soundflow before opening pro tools

    Other Notes

    Soundflow v6.2.1, Pro Tools 2026.4. This is only a recent issue, I think only since updating to 2026.4

      Thanks for reporting this.

      Out of interest, had you restarted SoundFlow since installing Pro Tools 2026.4?

      And if you quit SoundFlow from the SoundFlow icon and restart SoundFlow, does Pro Tools crash on startup every time?

          Hi Kitch,

          I have restarted Soundflow, and also reinstalled it (and reinstalled Pro Tools)

          I just tried quitting and restarting Soundflow before opening Pro Tools, and Pro Tools opened properly.

          It would also be very helpful if you could try rolling back to SoundFlow 6.2.0 to see if this is a SoundFlow regression.

                  on 6.2.0 it also crashes. Quitting and restarting Soundflow before opening Pro Tools is no longer working, it is crashing again.

                      Did you recently update to Tahoe, and did the issue perhaps start after the update?

                          Yes I did recently update and the problem is only after the update. Could we please look further into this as I am still having to do it each time I open PT

                              i've rolled back to 6.1.3 and PT 2025.12 and am still getting the same issue. Still on Tahoe though. Any ideas?

                                Thanks for the additional testing. I plan on taking a closer look at it this afternoon.

                                If I can't replicate the issue, I'd love to jump on a Zoom call so we can troubleshoot together and dig into what's happening.

                                In the meantime, please note that we're still testing macOS Tahoe, and it isn't fully supported yet. You can check our current system requirements here:

                                      Hi, @Tam_Glover4 and @Kitch,

                                      I think I know what's going on here. There is a bug we are tracking where if you have a "When Pro Tools becomes active" application trigger set for a runforever script, specifically the "Output Window: Follow Selected Track" command, it causes Pro Tools to crash on startup.

                                      For now, the best option is to remove the application trigger and start the "Output Window: Follow Selected Track" process manually with a keyboard trigger or a Stream Deck button.

                                      Can you give that a try, @Tam_Glover4 ?

                                            Wow, that seems to have helped with the crashing on start up issue, thank you! Interestingly I had the trigger deactivated, but by removing it completely the problem has gone. Thanks guys
