Scroll to Track - newbie question

    Hi there,

Just getting started with SoundFlow today, and have run into an issue. I'm trying to set up a Macro for Pro Tools in which I can Scroll to a specific track.

I have noticed that a few of the forum posts mention an Action called "Track Scroll to View". However, I cannot find that Action in the Editor at all, even when I use the search function.

Also, would it be possible for someone to take me through how I can point SoundFlow to a specific Memory Location? I would like it to activate and expand - for example - my Symphonic Flutes longs which are contained within a Routing Folder in Pro Tools.

    Thanks very much!

    1. Hi Graham,

To get that action, you need to first create a Macro.

      • Click "+ New", choose "Macro".
      • Now, click the "Add Action" button.
      • Choose "Track Scroll to View".

Hi! When I try to do this, the correct track is selected but no scrolling happens. I'm on ProTools 2020.5
Any ideas why this is happening?

          1. I'd check that you have Link Track and Edit Selection turned on. If that doesn't make it work, please file a Help/Issue report here:

For your 2nd question (best as a separate thread so as to make it easier for people to follow the conversation), use the "Go to memory location" action:

              Hi @chrscheuer!

I'm trying to figure out a way to improve the "Scroll to Track" feature on my workflow.

Let say that I work with groups of tracks (DX, SFX, AMB, etc...). Each group could contain 10 tracks (dx1, dx2, dx3, dx4...) I usually work with huge sessions so I would be really nice to be able to "travel" fast across the tracks.

I would like to have a macro that "scroll" me to the first track that contains the name "whatever". For example, if I want to scroll into view my first Dialog track, I would love to make the macro drive me to the first track of the session that contains "DX" on its name. No matter if the firstr dialog track is called DX1 or DXa. The important thing would be the "prefix". Same for SFX, just make a macro which execute "Scroll into view" the first track on the session that contains "SFX" on its name.

This way the macro will works even changing track names if their names always contains the same prefix.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

              1. Hi Alex,

Can I get you to post this in a new thread instead? :) This question is already marked as solved, so it would be better to have yours as a separate thread.

                    Of course!

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
