Stream Deck - how to set a default deck?
I'm sure I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I can't seem to figure out how to make a deck in SF the default deck - ie one that is shown when any application which does not have an activation trigger is foremost.
Do I have to create triggers in my default deck for when each of the applications I've set up triggers for are deactivated?
Many thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
We don't have a "default deck" concept in SoundFlow.
So the short reply is, yes, you'd have to set up application triggers for each of the apps you want to use your default deck.
You can also add a Stream Deck device trigger to your default deck with the event set to "Connected", so your Deck shows up as soon as the physical device gets connected / your computer starts.I have thought about how to get something like default decks to work, but right now it doesn't work very well together with SoundFlow's trigger-based system. The implementation that the Stream Deck app has, unfortunately, is fairly buggy, because having something be "default" brings a lot of complexity with it.

Hi Christian,
no problem. Might be worth getting a second deck just to have the main static one on it. Hmmm...Christian Scheuer @chrscheuer2020-07-16 09:49:13.053Z
Yea that's how I use mine :) Definitely recommendable! Also since having a static one just helps a ton. I use that for launching apps, controlling the lights of my studio, and other "global" stuff.

That's a great idea.

Wanted to vote this idea up in dev list as well. Find myself wishing there was an "Application Trigger" option in the apps list where we could check multiple apps (i.e. all apps except Pro Tools, etc...) should display the "global" deck.

You can assign multiple application triggers to a single deck like this:
But you have to be careful, you could easily assign an application trigger to two decks and things can get dicey.

Thx for this and you're right, but I still wish there was an option to avoid the tedious process of having to select every single individual app (except PT and a few production software apps that have their own standalone decks) in order to just keep my basic "Default Finder Deck" live.
I'm enjoying having a few app launch buttons and other basic macros within arms reach when I'm just doing general computing outside of audio production/editing. Thx again for pointing this out though man.

I use an old iPhone 5 for this purpose. It has my 'master' deck on it and I don't have any triggers that change it. In many ways this is preferable to having one deck with a default setting because you would have to dedicate a button on every deck to navigate back to the default deck.

Alternatively you can have a global keyboard trigger that always navigates to your default deck - something like ctrl-opt-cmd-f12
