Avid S1 settings controlled by stream deck?
Hi there
so I use my Avid s1 in three main ways
-
Faders control volume
-
Faders control SENDS (each fader is a specific send slot across many tracks)
-
Faders control SENDS (faders show all sends for a selected track)
=======================
I was hoping to assign a soft key on the s1 to reduce the amount of "shift / flip / channel / aux / pan" I have to press in a maddening constant combo.... but alas I can't get that to work. Looks like the soft keys cant put this together with the eucon editor....
So I was thinking maybe soundflow could help
any help would be great!
thanks
T

Hi Thomas,
I don't have an S1 so I can't test this myself, but as far as I know, they don't allow external software to control their behavior.
SoundFlow can (mostly) automate things that happen inside macOS, but we can't communicate outwards to Eucon devices, since the Eucon protocol is proprietary/closed.But maybe there's a way that I just haven't heard of - so let's keep this open to see if somebody else chimes in.

There hasn't been any changes to the situation since my statement above. One of the things we'd love to do is to be able to integrate EuCon and Soundflow more closely together, but this hasn't happened yet.

also curious about this...

Still nothing eh
I tried to get the eucon soft keys to gang up and make this happen. You’d think it would be possible there.
Andrew Scheps could do it ;) - In reply toThomas_Arsenault⬆:Oliver Varga @Oliver_Varga
Want to do the exact same thing on an S3... I also figured this must be possible in EuControl but I failed miserably.
@Andrew_Scheps do you know how to do it? :-) - TIn reply toThomas_Arsenault⬆:Thomas Arsenault @Thomas_Arsenault
Maybe it’s only possible with the iPad integrated?
I havnt tried with the iPad. I’d thought sound flow + eucon would be able to get at it. That this would even be a primary soft key purpose on the initial design.Chris Shaw @Chris_Shaw2022-07-10 22:08:50.636Z
Essentially Eucon is a one way protocol. Third party programs can let themselves be controlled by Eucon (if they integrate it) but the Eucon protocol is not available for third party apps to control it or other Eucon enabled applications.

Yeah - it really isn’t a sound flow gripe. I don’t mean to harp on that. More an avid eucon incredulousness that the soft keys (give how much control and options one has in the editor) can’t bundle and stack the commands and buttons that are on their controllers. Just surprised is all - within their ecosystem itself.

I wonder if there are any workarounds or shortcuts possible. Perhaps without using the soft-keys. But stream deck.

As stated above, SF cannot directly control Eucon. You can use Eucon / S1 buttons to simulate keyboard presses which in turn can be used to trigger SF commands. I do this with my S1s soft keys
