Best way to switch between Soundflow and streamdeck app

I am using the stream deck with Pro-Tools as well as Davinci Resolve.
What's the easiest way to switch between the 2, as SideshowFX has an extensive profile for Davinci Resolve.
So can I set up a preste, that will allow me to boot up in Sound Flow control. And have a switch that will then allow me to boot into Stream Deck, when switching to Davinci resolve. And Vice Versa

    1. Hi Mark,

The Stream Deck app's integration with the devices and SoundFlow's direct integration both assume total control of the devices when in use, so they can't coexist. In your case, if you wish to use Stream Deck's app, instead of using SoundFlow's direct integration, you'll need to use our integration via the Stream Deck plugin.

The instructions are here - skip down to the "Old integration" guide:

Please note that this is more complex to set up due to limitations in how the Stream Deck app handles plugins.

Yes, but can I have the stream deck start up in soundflow control mode. Then program the davinci app selection button on the stream to run a script that boots the stream deck app, and shuts down the soundflow app.

          1. Hi Mark,

I'm not sure why you would want to do things this way? I guess I understand it if you work 99% of the time not using DaVinci but doing other things and want to keep most of your stuff in Soundflow.
But it would also mean that when you then quit SoundFlow entirely, you're losing all of the workflows you would have set up that work across apps. I don't see why this would be an improvement over the recommended workflow where you just use the Stream Deck app as an integration point with our plugin.

            1. Just out of curiosity - if the DaVinci integration is the only reason that makes this complicated.. What are the features of that integration that you need the most?
Maybe it's worth waiting out for a potential SF integration with Davinci (or at least plan with that we may add something like that).

              1. As far as I can see it's just simulating keystrokes. There shouldn't be any reason why that couldn't just be programmed as macros in SoundFlow. That would greatly simplify your setup.

I think I'll start working on soundflow deck for it. I picked up an existing, extensive template designed for stream deck from sideshowfx. Including icons etc.

Maybe I'll email them, see if they're interested in making a soundflow version.

                    1. Nice - that would be awesome :)
