Pro Tools - Create New Track

Curious, I tried to figure out a command to create a new track in pro tools. How can you Delete but not Create? Could you shed some light on the limitations perhaps?

Another one that would be very helpful would be Time Events - Insert and Cut. Any thoughts here?

    Thank you!

    1. Hi Mark,

There should be a built-in SoundFlow action to delete the selected track(s).
Try clicking "Add Action" and search for "delete".

You could also generally build your own, since this would just mean clicking a menu item - this is supported through the "Click Menu Item" action. However, the track deletion is sometimes called "Track" -> "Delete" and other times "Track" -> "Delete..." with a confirmation dialog - which is why using SoundFlow's built in action is likely better.

          Hey Christian,

Thanks - found the Delete Track right away.

Looking for a way to Create Track. I'm guessing this isn't built in yet?

          1. Ah yes, you're right. You can see an example though on something close - in the Pro Tools Utilities package there's a template "New Track with Track Preset".

I believe Oliver Momm also has a package for creating tracks in his "Pro Tools Automation Pack #2 - Create Tracks".

            1. You should be able to get started using regular SoundFlow menu and UI automation (as we teach it in the Learning SoundFlow playlist) as a macro.
