Convert Dropbox Video Link in the forum.
When SoundFlow users paste a Dropbox link into the forum the default tag that is added to the end of the link is ?dl=0
. With this flag the video does not render the video as playable.
However if ?dl=0
is replaced by ?raw=1
the video link will be playable on the SF forum.
Idea: It would be great if the video links could automatically update to ?raw=1
.
eg,
Video with ?dl=0
Video with ?raw=1

This is interesting - have you seen this, Magnus?

Another tiny thing that I wanted to check.. @Kitch you being a native English speaker maybe you can help us.
The title of these links is sometimes "View at Facebook" or "View at YouTube" etc... Is "at" the correct preposition there? My ears don't like it... but wanted to check with a native speaker :)Kitch Membery @Kitch2020-11-05 10:27:58.524Z
"View at" followed by a link is correct ie. "View at https//.....".
But for the others... "View on Facebook" and "View on Youtube" would be my preferred choice.
:-)

Great, thanks for verifying Kitch, that was exactly what I thought.

From what I've read, when showing the video, the Dropbox monthly bandwidth of the person who owns the account with the video, gets used. I'm a bit worried that in some cases this could make people surprised (?) — o.t.o.h. it'd definitely be nice to show the video directly in the player.
Not sure what's a good solution?
(An admin setting? An in-preview button entitled sth like "Show video (uses your Dropbox bandwidth)", and unless one clicks that button, then, just a text link? but not a broken preview?
Or something else?)Thanks for the "View on FB" vs "View at https://..." info, I'm fixing that (I'm also not a native speaker).

Ah, yea, that's right. Now I remember that we already discussed this. @Kitch perhaps it's ok then that people can manually add it?

Yes perhaps... It does however improve the user experience in the forum if the videos display nicely.
Just thought I'd point it out. @KajMagnus, good point about the bandwidth.
