Color State on Stream Deck of atoggle button

    Hello,
Is there a way a way to have a toggle button assigned to Stream Deck colored regarding its state in ProTools. For example, if i assign the "Toggle Preview" and "Punch Preview" on Stream deck, is there a way to have a visual feedback of their state on the stream deck buttons?
    Thanks

    1. Hi Jo,

At this point, this is not possible, but it's a highly requested feature, so we are already looking at it internally to see what we can do in a future build :)

Yea, this would be pretty fantastic. Read, touch, latch as well.

Did this ever happen? I would love my toggle preview to turn green when it is touched, punch preview to turn yellow and write to all selected to turn red or something like that. Also, anyone make any background colors for buttons? I bet that is stupid easy, I am just being too busy.

Hi Christian, I hope you're well. Do you have any further development on this feature? It would be great to have control of the background colour in a deck button. In addition to the typical ProTools use of track state, I'm looking to use it in a separate script where I can create a palette of colours that are saved in a json file and they are used in Adobe Illustrator to colour the selected item (so naturally having the ability to have custom colours in the background of the button would be ideal).

                1. Hi Andrew

At this point, dynamic decks are reserved for SoundFlow Developers. If you're interested in joining the developer program, shoot us an email at support@soundflow.org with a bit of background and which kinds of apps you'd wish to build.

Is dynamic deck building still just for developers? I'm building decks for ListenHub and Groundcontrol Room. I'd love to have the buttons change so I can quickly see which inputs/outputs/options are selected.

hi did you build a ground control room script?

                              Hey Tom,

I did end up building out some scripts for ground control. It mostly utilizes MIDI outputting from sound flow and ground control listening to the MIDI. I did not set up dynamic buttons as I don't think I have the capability to do that without becoming a developer. I'll publish the package and try to post a link for you.

Do you find Room to be stable?

Honestly, it’s a little buggy at times. I use ListenHub from Sonnox more, but ListenHub doesn’t allow you to listen to more than one of its inputs at a time. Room does. I have some macros for ListenHub that I published. ListenHub is more stable, but Room is more versatile.

                                    1. If you guys have contacts at either of those companies, please feel free to put us in contact with them if you'd like for us to work towards some official integrations. I have a feeling that could be quite powerful :)

                                        Hello,

New to Soundflow/Streamdeck and the forum, and this is one thing I'm really hoping is possible. One of the most useful for me (and referred to by OP) would be Preview toggle. Is there a way to have the color toggle reflecting its state? Right now I keep the Automation window open but would be great if it was just on the SD. I was reading about Bitfocus Companion and it seems it's possible with that, but I'm not sure if that can be integrated with Soundflow. Thanks!

                                        1. We're working on deeper integrations with various different software and hardware, among this the ability to reflect state on Stream Deck buttons. This is a high priority on our roadmap.

                                            https://soundflow.org/store/pkg/rx-deck-2

This is Will Harp's Automation deck. He clearly spent a lot of time programming it. He has a creative workaround for dynamic deck. It has the preview button color change, but you can't just go putting it on your own deck. It's a standalone package. Basically every time you press a button in addition to doing the action it sends you to a different deck with different icons to reflect your status.

Christian!!!! My FAVORITE software developer in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are the chances you've taken a crack at this?? I just want to see the sweet sweet mute / solo state of my busses on my stream deck, that would delight me beyond all measure :):):)

                                              1. Hehe, thank you for the kind words :) This will be supported via our new meta commands feature along with updates to several of the packages in the Store. Meta commands are coming in May with SoundFlow 5.4.
