    StreamDeck keeps freezing

    System Information

    SoundFlow 4.1.10

    OS: darwin 19.6.0

    ProductName: Mac OS X
    ProductVersion: 10.15.7
    BuildVersion: 19H15

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Restart SoundFlow
    2. Streamdeck loads and works for a bit
    3. Change to safari, finder, etc
    4. stream Deck now no longer works
    5. Only solution I've found is to quit and relaunch soundflow

    Expected Result

Streamdeck cotinues to work after switching back to PT

    Actual Result

streamdeck buttons do nothing. Editing the deck in soundflow yields no results on streamdeck, including when I hit "show deck"

    Workaround

restart soundflow but I must do this very often

    Other Notes

I'm guessing maybe I'm doing something wrong, I sure hope I don't have to restart soundflow every time I command-tab to another app, which is quite frequently

    1. Thanks for reporting, Phil.

I can't see anything wrong in your setup or in the log file.

The most frequent issue with Stream Decks are that USB extenders don't properly/completely support the Stream Decks, so they tend to lose the connection. Can I get you to test with the Stream Deck connected straight to a USB port directly on your computer to see if there's any change?
Obviously that may not be the final solution, but it's an important thing to rule out as a potential cause.

Crap, my rig isn't close enough to plug directly in so no matter what it has to be on an extender and I'm not sure I have an open port on my new mac pro that I could dedicate to just the streamdeck.

I'll see if I at least have an extension cable somewhere around here so I can go into the main hub in my rack instead of the hub at my desk.

Ok I have it on it's own USB 2.0 extender going back to a hub on my main machine and so far it's hanging in there.

I'll see if it stays working all day tomorrow...fingers crossed!

              1. Don't worry – some extenders and hubs do work. It's most often a question of delivering enough power to the device. I was more asking as a troubleshooting step.
But great if you already got it working :)
