Control Volume fader (relative) does not seem to work on faders in Trim mode

Would love to use the trim fader (relative) on faders in trim mode but it doesn't seem to be working.

  1. What happens when you run it?

    1. And what would be the point of setting a relative value to a fader in trim? Wouldn't your trim fader normally be in 0 anyway? Just trying to understand the workflow.

      1. What happens:
When I run it, the fader window opens, the value text area is highlighted, then the fader window closes, and the trim value doesn’t change.

        My workflow:
When I mix and use touch/trim, I have my preferences set so that when playback stops the trim data is automatically coalesced (very common in music mixing as it replicates SSL automation). So when a client asks for a vocal up mix, I put the fader in trim/read mode and move the fader up until I find the level I like, manually coalesce the trim data via the track’s pop up menu and and save the session as “vocal up’.

So what I would like to do is use your script to nudge the trim fader up or down precisely by a set value while the track is playing and once a suitable level is established run another script to coalesce the data. This mimics a Neve/Flying Faders workflow.

        Hi Chris and Christian,

I'm running into the same thing, I'm made little a screen grab to illustrate the problem.

        Best,
        Bas

          1. Hey guys. The Pro Tools Utilities package is now deprecated in favor of the official Pro Tools package by SoundFlow :)

aha, will these volume features be added to the official package in the future? Cheers
