Plug In Loader Failure?
Hi guys, does anyone know what causes this failure? The session im working on today won't load any plug-ins via Soundflow?? Thanks :) Mike

- Mike Cave @Mike_Cave
Hi @Kitch hope you're well...i think I might have discovered the problem here? (although a different error message - see attached)
Plug-In loader isn't working when a track height is set to either mini or micro - works fine on all larger track heights. Is this something you're aware of or is it just happening on my system for some reason?
PT Ultimate HDX 2020.12 / Mac OS X 10.15.2
Thanks :)

Hi Mike,
Thanks for letting know. Sorry I missed your original message.
Yes I'm aware of this issue. When the tracks size is mini or micro the Pro Tools UI changes. I plan on adding a fix for this when I get a chance.
Rock on!

Ahhh thanks @Kitch the plugin loader is also failing sometimes when the track height is larger?? Any idea why this might be?
Please could you advise where in Soundflow I can view the full error messages so I can give you more details?
I have noticed a list of error messages below some scripts but never shown below macros or below any of the plugin Loader commands??Apologies again for my noobness! Slowly learning ;)
Thanks

Hi @Mike_Cave,
To open the full log you can click the "Open Log File" from the second page of the SoundFlow icon Menu.
As far as the plugin failure goes. Be sure to check that the plugin actually exists at the exact path you are specifying in the preset. Make sure the plugin exists at the width you have specified, and that there is a Native or HDX version of the plugin if that has been specified etc.
If all that looks correct then I'll need to investigate further.
Rock on!

Thanks @Kitch the errors that i'm experiencing appear to to intermittent, so sometimes a plugin won't load on one track but then load perfectly on another track of the same width in the session??
Please see below log data after several attempts with various plugins. I'm confident this isn't due to plugins not existing or being the wrong width etc as I've had them working sometimes??
I made sure the track is visible in the edit window and bigger than mini/micro track height.
FYI i'm on a HDX system but use 99% native plugins.
Thanks again :)

Hi @Mike_Cave,
I have to step out of the studio for a while but when I return I'll try to walk you through some troubleshooting steps so we can work out what's happening.
Thanks for your patience Mike!
Mike Cave @Mike_Cave
Thanks @Kitch much appreciated :)

Hi @Mike_Cave
I'm back. :-)
Sorry if you have tried any of the following troubleshooting steps. I just want to make sure we're not overlooking something simple.
Once you have found a scenario where the preset is failing can you do the following;
-
Try quitting SoundFlow from the SoundFlow Icon in the header and restarting SoundFlow and see if that fixes the issue, if it does not, can you;
-
Send a screengrab of the plugin loader preset that is failing.
-
Send a screengrab of the destination track header including the I/O and insert slots.
-
Let me know what the width of the destination track is (ie mono, stereo).
-
Let me know what kind of track the destination track is (Audio/Instrument/Aux/Master Fader).
-
Let me know if any of the plugins preceding the destination slot are of a different kind to the plugin you are trying to add (ie HDX).
Once I have this info I'll be able to best figure out the next step, or see what's causing the issue.
:-)

Hey @Kitch , @Mike_Cave and @Adrian_Breakspear ,
I'm having a similar issue. For me it won't insert any plug-in if the selected track is either 'Micro' or 'Mini' view. Everything other View, up to Extreme, seems to work fine.
Is there a way to make it adjust track height before it runs the plugin script?
Here's what I'm getting in the Log File:

Hi @Kyle_Cassel,
Have you by chance updated “Teezio’s Plugin Loader” to the latest version. It should work on all size tracks.
Let me know if you have already and I’ll take a look.
- KKyle Cassel @Kyle_Cassel
Hey @Kitch
Looks like I have not. What a dummy, works great now. Thanks so much!
Kitch Membery @Kitch2021-05-11 18:03:28.184Z
Great to hear it’s working. Enjoy:-)

Ahhhh awesome!! Thanks @Kitch , i've been hoping for this update for a while but didn't realise you'd already launched it!
Whoohoo! Great work sir! :)

Hi @Kitch (and @Mike_Cave : ) ),
I'm also seeing the same thing - I wasn't aware of the micro/mini thing so I'll check that out, but some of the issues I have:
- a plugin will load fine one minute, and then won't the next (this might be the track height).
- plugins won't load if there's a plugin open.
- sometimes plugins close the UI (which I've set it to do), sometimes they don't.
- sometimes for some random reason they flip to the mix window!
- when I've set up a chain - ie one button on the deck which calls a set of plugins - the chain works for the first plugin, works for the 2nd then fails on the 3rd.
I should add soundflow is flawless for me in RX, where it's sped up my workflow enormously. I'm still finding my way round how I want it to work in pro tools, but I'm getting there!
Thanks Kitch as ever - you're a customer support marvel.
Adrian

I just saw this post I must have missed it. My apologies. Have you updated the plug-in loader recently? And if so are you experiencing those issues still?
Rock on.
- AAdrian Breakspear @Adrian_Breakspear
No probs @Kitch, thanks for your attention.
I've just run the update - so I'll see how that goes.
Good timing - I've just received my Stream deck this week!
Thanks,
Adrian - In reply toKitch⬆:AAdrian Breakspear @Adrian_Breakspear
Additional - yep it's working much better now.
I've not found an individual plugin that's not loading properly.
One thing that is slightly weird - when I'm triggering a whole chain of commands (eg for a "standard channel strip") the view switches to the mix window randomly - and sometimes remains stuck there. Any ideas why? I can upload the code if that helps...?
The thing is - I don't think it's doing it consistently, only sometimes!
Kitch Membery @Kitch2021-05-12 01:57:53.160Z
If you could start a new post in the "Teezio's Plugin Loader" forum for this, that would be great. And yes, please share the script and possibly a screen record if you can make it fail.
Rock on!
