SoundFlows says I'm logged in on another machine. Can't log in.

SoundFlows says I'm logged in on another machine. Can't log in. The last machine I was logged in on is the same machine I'm trying to log in on. I just shut it down and turned in back on. Honestly this is a massive issue for me going forward. It cripples the entire idea of what soundflow is suppose to do. Make things faster, but not I can't use anything and spending loads of time trying to figure out how to log into the dang thing.

I tried, but it sat there for ever just spinning. I found the issue though. I logged onto my laptop a few days ago and shut it down. Then continued to work on my main computer for a few days. Unknown to me, my wife powered up my laptop and was using it. For some reason SoundFlow reconnected with my laptop instead. I tried to revoke the permissions, but there was no ip listed or anything, so I was still locked out. Once I found out that my laptop had been turned back on, I opened the laptop (taking it out of Sleep mode). Then everything worked.

Now that I know the reasoning for the issue, it actually has me quite concerned. I travel between a few difference computers for work. Some a few hours away. If I ever forget to log out of a computer before a leave, if the computer goes to sleep I could be in a world of hurt. Curious if there is a way to revoke permissions without having to communicate to the last known computer. Then once the computer is brought out of sleep it then communicates that it's permissions have been revoked.

I hope that makes sense. For a service pro, I feel it needs some contingencies in place for this very issue, considering a lot of people in this industry travel. LOVE it so far. But issues like this make me nervous to make it a staple if I may not fully be able to rely on it. Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean - did you try to load the website chat and it didn't work? As I mentioned, you can also contact us at help@soundflow.org or support@soundflow.org.

With regards to logging out remotely of sessions:

            • By default, SoundFlow supports what we call "Offline Read-Only Mode". This means, that your session will continue to work, even if your computer goes offline. The downside of this mode is that it doesn't allow us to remotely log out sessions, since they could have gone offline but still be active.

            • In the near future, we'll introduce a new "Remote Logout Mode" that doesn't support offline use, but instead allows you to immediately log out any other session that may be in use.

The current system in Offline Read-Only Mode, means, that when you click "Revoke access from next login" it means exactly that: Any future attempts to try to log in from the device you revoked access to, will fail (because we revoked access server-side). If there was a current active session on that device when you revoke access from next login, that session will remain active for about 30-60 minutes, until it tries to refresh its login, which will then fail.
As mentioned, the new Remote Logout Mode we'll be introducing will add immediate logout (+ access revoke) capabilities to any connection made in that mode, but will not support offline use.
Until the Remote Logout Mode is introduced, you can, as I mentioned, always contact us directly via one of the above methods, and we can override all of this and manually log out all your sessions immediately.
Finally, for specific use cases, it's possible to purchase additional logins for $4/month, which can be activated to facilitate if you're often using both a laptop and desktop computer, for example.

                Hello Christian,
                Hello,
I am trying to install soundflow on a new computer in a new studio. Soubdflow is already working on the computer in studio B.
We would like to have SoundFlow working on both studios, but we only have one user.
Is it possible or does this error mean that we need to create a new login in order to set up our new computer?
This is quite urgent for a system we're trying to implement; so I thank you in advance for your timely response.
                Best,

                1. I noticed that you reached out on our support email, which is great - we handle all licensing questions there.

The short reply for anybody wondering about this public question, is that yes, you need one account per person using SoundFlow.
