Soundflow logging out automatically and often.

    Soundflow being logged out often

    System Information

    SoundFlow 4.3.6

    OS: darwin 20.6.0

    ProductName: macOS
    ProductVersion: 11.6
    BuildVersion: 20G165

    Steps to Reproduce

I use soundflow on a Mac pro in the studio, and on a MacBook Pro at home.

If for example I'm logged into Soundflow on the desktop machine in the studio, and I open my laptop briefly to respond to an email, then soundflow autpomatically logs me out of the desktop machine. I didn't log into to soundflow on the laptop, but soundflow just decides to log out every time both computers are active.

    Expected Result

    Actual Result

Often when this problem happens, soundflow will refuse to allow me to log back in on the computer I'm using. I have to go to manage sessions and force it to log out of the other computer, before logging in again.

    Workaround

    Not yet.

    Other Notes

I would really love if soundflow can remember a user. I am the only person using my computers but having to type in the log in credentials multiple times a day is really quite annoying. A computer is locked by the user account, so I don't think soundflow needs to be super tight to as not remember user credentials if I want to allow it to.

    1. Hi Matt,

SoundFlow by default remembers the credentials of the last user logged in to a computer. What is likely happening in your case is that SF was running on your laptop and you hadn't signed out manually of the laptop. When you then open your laptop, it tries to log you in, causing an issue with the currently open session on your Desktop.

The solution is to make sure to manually log your user out on the computer where you're not using SF. Or, you can get an additional login to allow both machines to be logged in at the same time (probably the easiest solution in this case).

      1. To log out of SF, click the SF icon, then click the X in the top right corner of the popup window to log out your user.
