Adjust clip to next/closest 0 point on waveform

This might be an ambitious idea (and perhaps already been suggested) but I'm wondering if it may be possible to create a script that can adjust clips region to meet the next on the nearest 0 point of the waveform?

The idea is to prevent possible digital clicks, not so much between two completely different waveforms, more if it's the same waveform, but one region perhaps has been audiosuited with something different, or edited or something. Might be a silly/useless in practice idea, but curious if possible all the same.

An example of this would be these pictures:

    1. At the moment there is no way for SF to read the waveform display data on a track.
If there was I would have made a script for this months ago…🙂

haha i must admit when I was looking around for a script kinda like this I definitely thought to myself "this has big @Chris_Shaw energy written all over it".

Thanks Chris, I thought it might fall into something like that category.
