Is there a way to switch between the soundflow and streamdeck software? I'v set my streamdeck up to launch various applications. When i installed soundflow it created a new profile in the streamdeck software. I can switch to the soundflow profile easily but cant figrue a way to switch back to the streamdeck software profile. Anyone managed to do this?

I recommend that you use SoundFlow to manage the stream deck and forget about the Stream Deck application. Soundflow can do so much more. You can easily launch applications with SoundFlow, that's just the start

Been a while but I'm following this. There are things that Elgato can do for me that Soundflow doesn't, and things that Soundflow does that Elgato can't. Be good to be able to easily switch.

I agree with Dylan, is there any way to tell SoundFlow to "let go" of a Stream Deck so I can use it with the Elgato software for certain tasks? Either momentarily, or for good?

                1. Unfortunately, both apps take control of all Stream Decks on the system. Since the Elgato app does it, even if SoundFlow didn't, they wouldn't be able to peacefully "take control" of each their own, as far as I have tried it. (Let's say you wanted SF to take control of Stream Deck A, and the Elgato app to take care of Stream Deck B - even if SoundFlow ignored Stream Deck B, if the Elgato app starts first, for whatever reason, then SF couldn't take control of any of them, so you'd end up with a very unstable solution - for this reason, we designed SF, when used with our direction integration, to take full control).

If you need to use the Stream Deck software, the only way SoundFlow could communicate with the Stream Deck devices would be through their API via our Stream Deck plugin. Unfortunately, this API adds a lot of restrictions (and bugs/limitations/complexity) which isn't present when we communicate directly with the devices.

That also means, the complexity of making everything work gets put on the user, unfortunately, whereas when SoundFlow controls everything we can take care of that for you.

If you want to explore using them together through the plugin to figure out if it's what you want and if you're ok with the limitations and complexity it introduces, you can look into our guide here (scroll down to the old guide):
