Option to prevent Stream Deck from sleeping with screensaver?

Hey everyone, was just wondering if this would be at all possible!

The reason I ask is because while it makes perfect sense for the stream deck to sleep whenever the computer turns to the screensaver - there are many times where I wish I could run certain commands without having to wake/log in - this is mostly for stuff such as light controls with hue, as well as certain home scripts I've built.

Additionally, I think even better might be the option to control the behaviour of the stream deck when the system enters sleep/screen saver. Perhaps there could be a way to show a different deck when things go to sleep?

Anyhow, just gonna keep tossing ideas out as I come up with them - some might be good, some might impractical but hopefully it's insightful for the developers to know what some users might want!

    Anyways, thanks you guys!

    Best,
    Eric

From what I understand, the sleep settings for the Streamdeck are controlled within the Streamdeck software, not SoundFlow. I find sleep settings for the Streamdeck to be fairly erratic. Sometimes they follow the expected Streamdeck settings and then sometimes the Streamdeck stays awake for days and days.

      1. Hi Eric,

Kitch is right that the Stream Deck turning off is controlled by firmware - but the SF logo turning in different colors is controlled by SF.

For security reasons, when the computer is in screen saver mode, we don't allow scripts to run from the Stream Deck, as it would break the security premise of screen saver (usually) equalling the person controlling the computer not being present. If SoundFlow worked around that, it could become a security risk.

Haha, yeah I figured as much on the security end but appreciate the clearing up!

In the meantime, is there perhaps a way to change the screensaver or perhaps even turn the display off and have it wake with the system? Not that I don't like the logo, i just love customization. :P

            1. Hi Eric,

Currently, there's no customization possible of the SD screen saver, but you're not the first to request it :)

Awesome, thanks @chrscheuer !!! If and when this might happen - it'd be incredible if we could use video / gif! This also goes for icons but just a thought!
