Thinking about getting this app, but I'm still on the fence right now! One of the main uses I have for it is selecting tracks by track type. Is this app able to do that?
One of the desired workflow's is to select all of the audio tracks in a session. I usually throw a trim insert at the end of my plugin chain so that I can null my faders for more precise movements (I usually just do my inital balance with the trim pots). I usually want to do this only to the audio tracks and not any auxes, returns, submixes, etc. I know pro tools has the "show only audio tracks" feature, but from my experience, this doesn't hide any routing folders that audio tracks are headed into. Additionally, it can be a pain to figure out what tracks were hidden or shown if "Restore Previously Shown Tracks" gets disabled for any reason.
Seems like Track Selector would be a great solution to this problem, but from what I can tell, I don't believe it has this functionality.
Chris Shaw @Chris_Shaw2022-04-01 21:00:20.236ZThis is definitely possible with SF.
You can select tracks by type.
@Andrew_Scheps has a free utility that move inserts to free up a specific slot.
Then you can use one of the plug in loaders in the store (Teezo's) to insert the trim plugin. It's be relatively easy to chain those commands together.
Alexandre Hirlinger @Alexandre_HirlingerThanks for the help! I use both those scripts all the time and love them! I'll end up getting track selector, but out of curiousity, how would the script/macro for "select tracks by type" work in SF?
In reply toAlexandre_Hirlinger⬆:Andrew Scheps @Andrew_SchepsHi @Alexandre_Hirlinger ,
Track Selector absolutely selects by type, and then as Chris pointed out I have another free script that can free up the first insert slot on selected tracks so you don't have to manually drag them around.
Alexandre Hirlinger @Alexandre_HirlingerOh, great! I see now! I would use the "Track Type" magnifying glass. Must have missed that one when I was looking at getting the app. Thanks for the help!
