As a Pro Tools user using the SoundFlow Avid Edition, I have some limitations in configuring devices with SoundFlow (such as the iPad or Streamdeck).
So I would like to configure Soundflow with my SSL Nucleus 2 since it supports keyboard emulation so instead of using my actual keyboard it would be nice to trigger Soundflow commands through the Nucleus.
The nice thing about the Nucleus is that it provides several customizable buttons where I can set various keyboard shortcuts through its remote software. In this case, the Nucleus behaves like the computer keyboard and I can use it to trigger various commands within Pro Tools or any other DAW.
Is it possible to set this configuration? The Nucleus works using IPmidi protocol via Ethernet and I use it with HUI inside Pro Tools. It is also connected via USB to the computer for sending keyboard commands.
Thanks

Hi Jacopo,
It's worth a try :) Have you tried doing it?
One hiccup might be that some keyboard emulation software (your SSL Nucleus driver) and keyboard "grabbing" software (SoundFlow) might not always play well together. This has to do with limitations in how macOS handles keyboard systems.
You'd get a more stable solution by using MIDI to trigger SF instead of keyboard shortcuts from keyboard-emulated software. But it's possible that it'll work for you, so I'd recommend trying it out.

Hi Christian, sorry for my late reply and thanks for your support!
I tried to set keyboard triggers using the Nucleus and it actually works, so it's a very nice feature. I can use my custom shortcuts with Pro Tools command presets that are available within the pack. This really expands my workflow!
Another cool thing that I should have to try is to set a dedicated layer on the Nucleus for using it with Soundflow. I have up to three layers and I can set one of them for working in MCU mode and then mapping commands within Soundflow.
So far problem solved, thank you again :)
