Bounce Factory Stem Bouncing / Pro Tools Heat Problem
Bounce Factory Stem Bouncing / Pro Tools Heat Problem
System Information
SoundFlow 5.1.5
OS: darwin 19.6.0
ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.15.7
BuildVersion: 19H15
Steps to Reproduce
- Take snapshot
- Highlight the selected stems in the session
- Add batch
- Proceed
- Bounce All
Expected Result
Every stem should print and contain audio
Actual Result
I use Pro Tools Heat on my mix sessions. Typically with the drive knob one click to the right, and the tone knob at 12:00. I typically bypass Heat on the vocal tracks as well as my drum bus print since the individual drums were already going through it. Every stem prints fine but it seems that for some reason any of the tracks that I bypass Heat on, don't bounce properly. Every stem will bounce fine except anything with Heat bypassed shows up blank with no audio. Doesn't make a difference if they are in folders or not.
Workaround
I can go back and reopen the session and bounce the stems individually and it works just fine. It's only during the bounce factory process.
Other Notes
It is possible that this is a weird coincidence and not related to Heat, however using my best judgement it seems related only to the tracks that I bypass Heat on does this problem exist.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for reporting. Please be sure to use the Script help reporting from bit.ly/sfscripthelp so that Andrew automatically gets tagged - I'll do it manually here instead - @Andrew_Scheps

Hi @Alex_Sacco ,
There was one other user who reported this issue, and I think it is a Pro Tools bug related to Import Session Data and Heat. I'll try to reproduce here, but in the meantime, unless you need to override the way the inserts and heat are stored in the session, you can turn off Inserts in the Snapshot Data Recall Filter in the Bounce Factory Settings and that should get around it.

Awesome I will try this and report back. Thank you so much for your speedy response!

I have a feeling that will get around the problem, but I'd love to fix it. I can't reproduce the issue here, could you run the Collect User Files script in the package and send me the zip file it makes on the Desktop? Also, so I can actually test, if you could send the session file (no audio needed) and let me know which tracks are bouncing blank that would be amazing. Thanks!

Absolutely! Can do this evening. Thank you!
