How To Send Midi Directly to External Device Via Soundflow

    Hi There
    I have a macro to send midi to my hardware H3000 unit. However, i am currently using Pro Tools as a "go between" to route it.
    I have Soundflow sending to "Output 1"
    Pro tools picks up Soundflow Output 1 and sends it to my predefined H3000 path (setup via Audio Midi Setup)

    Can soundflow send directly to an Audio Midi Setup midi path without having to use another application?

    thank you
    philip

      Hi @Philip_weinrobe,

      SoundFlow has a series of MIDI Macro Actions. You can find them by creating a new Macro and adding them via the "+ Add Action" button. You will the MIDI actions in the MIDI folder in the Macro Action search;

      Once you've added one of the actions you can assign values to the relevant properties.

      Here is what the "Send MIDI Note On/Off" action looks like.

      I hope that helps.

          Hi Kitch
          This is exactly what I'm using. But the "Output Number" sends to the soundflow midi output system.
          I want to send this directly to my Motu Interface Port 8, Channel 1. How do I do that with soundflow?

            Ahh Gotya!

            Yes, I believe you can do that... Click the "Advanced Properties" cog in the top right corner of the Macro action. That will give you an extra property for the "External Midi Port" where you can enter the name of your external midi port.

            I don't have any Midi devices connected to this computer, but let me know if you get stuck.
