Bounce factory failed on some bounce passes but not others on overnight full album stems bounce
Just started using Bounce factory, worked great the first few songs, and then setup an album overnight last night and had a few weird things happen..
A couple songs didnt export fully, and two of the songs that made it all the way through export had one stem each that was incorrect, a LV stem that had an instrument on it instead, and then the LV didnt get bounced, and another mis labelled bounce in another song.
NOTE: I was using basic folders within the session to subgroup some things for the stems bounce, incase that could effect anything? If I sum things together inside of mix stems, I like to make the groups into basic folders and then just select all the tracks and do the "batch..." stems bounce instead of making solo passes, as its easier for me to remember what was grouped together this way if I ever have to go back and fix something or re print stems differently for the client.

Hi @Josh_Bowman ,
I'll have a look at the user files a little bit later. Could you tell me which mix passes were missing and which were wrong so I can find them in the logs?
Folders do have different soloing rules than auxes, so that could be the issue with the couple that weren't right.
Thanks,
AndrewAndrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Also, did it say that it had finished with warnings or just that the mixes were ready?

Thanks @Andrew_Scheps !! Finished with errors/log. Heading out for the day so no rush, appreciate the help.
The song "Love language" didnt finish bouncing fully on its own. On that song the following stems didnt bounce -"Love Language-JBMix-Stem-Adlibs", and "Love Language-JBMix-Stem-LV" (This one contained Rev Piano instead of lead vocals, and LV did. not get bounced at all, but bounce factory thought it did because there was a stem with that name. This one was a Basic folder also which is why I thought maybe its related).
"If You Stay" also didnt finish bouncing,. In the audio files folder it looks like the first 6 stems bounced then I re bounced the rest this morning after some restarting. But I dont have detailed notes on that one.
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
From the logs it looks like all the stems bounced for If You Stay. Very strange. Unfortunately you had already deleted the snapshots for Love Language so I couldn't check those but I would imagine the wrong audio was just something in the snapshot setup, not the inability to solo or un-solo. I tested extensively with basic folders today and it all worked well.
If you have this kind of issue with the wrong audio again make sure to Collect User Files before deleting the snapshots so I can see what's up.
I wish I had some more concrete answers for you but I'm just not seeing anything here...

Sorry also, the song "here"- the stem "Here-JBMIx-Stem-Pluck Pad" was bounced with some drums in it, which does not happen when I Solo the tracks in pro tools manually. Again, the drums were contained inside a basic folder, so maybe related.

Hi Josh,
I'm going through the logs now trying to figure out what happened, there's some odd stuff in there.
In the meantime, I know OS updates are super scary when you're in the middle of things. but the latest Monterey (12.5.1) is waaaaaaay better for Pro Tools than 12.3.1.
Hope to have some insight later

Thank you so much for looking into it. I did actually update after this to the latest os in hopes it would fix whatever happened.
I got a message from the producer that there was one other song that had some mix ups that I didn’t catch on my QC pass…
“ If You Stay, the B chorus stem is just the Air Guitar stem again, and the snares stem is just silence.”
I’m going to try re running a bounce of the stems for that song tomorrow night to see if the os update maybe fixed things or if the issue is duplicatable .. If it does anything strange again I’ll make sure to grab the user data and tag you again to see if we can sort it out.

Ok cool, and make sure the snapshots are still in the app when you grab the user data. Thanks!
