Bounce Factory error message
Finally making the time to learn Andrew's app. Just tried to make a simple set up for my basic deliverables and tried to bounce just the first mix pass in the demo/basic (no features) mode and got this error message. Was able to bounce it as normal through the "regular" PT BTD window:
Could not complete the Bounce Mix command because Assertion in "/Users/autobld/gitlabci/PT_COLOR/ProTools/App/StudioMgr/SMgr_DelayMgr.cpp", line 5525.

Hi @Gary_Philips,
Thanks for posting a question or an issue related to the 'Scheps Bounce Factory' package.
This package is made by Andrew Scheps who I've tagging so that they will hopefully be able to help you. Please note, in future, that the best way to get help with a script, macro, or other content installed from the Store is to select the script you installed, then click the red Need help button, and then click "Get help with this script or macro".
By using this workflow, the developer of the package will get access to more information so they'll be able to help you quicker.
You can read more about how to best get help in this article: bit.ly/sfscripthelp
Thanks :-)

Ah, thanks Kitch. My mistake, I'll repost there

Hi @Gary_Philips ,
That's a Pro Tools error, not a Bounce Factory one, but weird that you're seeing it. Could you please run the Collect User Files script in the Bounce Factory package and send me a link to the zip file it creates so I can look at the logs?
Thanks!

Hmmm ok. here are the User Files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x2d14eosi4gwg1b/Bounce Factory Data - GaryP - 2022_10_14 12%3A12%3A19 .zip?dl=0
thanks for investigating, Andrew!Gary Philips @Gary_Philips
Just tested again with the same session. It bounced ok from the PT bounce window, but again threw that error when bouncing with BF. . . I noticed that there's a MacOS error that comes up right at the beginning of the BF bounce -- looks like a MacOS shortcut error. BF seems to continue fine from there, but then ultimately throws that error. Just thought it was another oddity . . . Also interesting (I thought) was that I still get the error in BF even if I only select the mix pass that's identical to the regular mix pass in PT. So the same pass works from inside PT but not through BF

The error you're seeing about shortcuts is the only way to turn on DND on Monterey is to install shortcuts. To fix that run the Install Monterey Shortcuts script which is in the same group of scripts as Collect User Files.
So, on to the issue at hand, it's very strange that BF could cause a Pro Tools error like that. The logs are telling me that the bounce files doesn't exist, which makes sense getting a Pro Tools error while trying to bounce.
One thing I notice is that you are on Pro Tools 22.1. There have been gigantic improvements in Pro Tools' compatibility and performance with Monterey since then. If you feel like trying it, I would install 22.9. If you rename the version of Pro Tools already in your Applications folder before you run the installer, you will have two versions of Pro Tools installed side by side (I have 5 or 6 installed at the moment). You can switch back and forth as much as you want and there are no compatibility issues. I know that installing versions of Pro Tools is daunting, but it does work to have multiple versions installed.
Failing that, if you could take a screen recording of it gong wrong maybe I can get some info from that as to what's going wrong.
Gary Philips @Gary_Philips
Ah. I will install that script. Thanks for the heads up.
As to pt versions I’m running 2022.9 and the latest r3.1x…. Not 2022.1. That’s odd that you’d see that.Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
I’ll double check the logs. My brain probably made a typo

Hey @Andrew_Scheps, any further thoughts on this error? My demo period is set to expire and although I would LOVE to buy BF to use to do about 38 songs worth of stems I need to deliver in the next few weeks, I'm not able to get off even a single bounce with BF.
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Can you send me up to date User Files?
I hadn't heard back so I assumed (wrongly) that installing the shortcuts had got you going. I have a feeling it's going to be something simple since nobody else is seeing this and you can reproduce it.
And again, it's a Pro Tools error but we'll either reproduce it without Bounce Factory so we can report it to Avid or find out what in BF is making it fail. If I can't figure anything out from the logs are you available for a zoom so we can investigate?
Gary Philips @Gary_Philips
Ah, ok, great. Here are most recent User Files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/om2ypqcc6hmnjmd/Bounce Factory Data - GaryP - 2022_11_09 11%3A50%3A26 .zip?dl=0
Happy to do a zoom if this doesn't help. Thanks!
Andrew Scheps @Andrew_Scheps
Can you do a zoom now? If so email me at info@bouncefactory.net and I'll send a link.
